Thousands of hours lost

I don't know exactly how many people actually are in these forums every day or if anyone will even respond to this post or see it, but the goal is to post something new every day until this gets figured out..

I have had the same gamertag for close to a decade now. I've spend thousands of hours in multiple games with that gamertag and never want to start over or lose any of the progress, but I'm worried lately that that is exactly wants going to happen. I have
been trying to save up money for a long time now to get a new xbox because I traded my sold mine a while ago because I was low on cash, that was about two years ago now, (this is gonna be a long one by the way, so if you're willing to read the whole thing,
I'd grab some snacks) but I was still paying for xbox live every month. I decided to cancel it for now because it just another extra charge every month for something that I currently wasn't using, pretty easy fix right? Turns out, due to trying to change which
email I used in the past and since I hadn't logged into the account in over two years, I had forgotten the password.. surprise surprise. So naturally the first I thought to do was just reset the password, but when I did that, I realized that for whatever reason,
the recovery phone number attached to the account wasn't a number that I recognized... i had to submit an "account recovery form..." It went really well, I knew the almost all the information that I needed to know except for one thing... the "xbox device ID,"
and because of that small detail, I never got approved for the password reset, so I figured it was no big deal, I'll call customer support and see if they can help me, it turns out... they "couldn't." Every person I talked to, told me right away, "if you already
tried resubmitting it and it didn't work, the only thing you can do is cancel the card its on.. So for that one charge that was coming out every month, I had to cancel my card and get a brand new one. That all happened in January, I got promoted a couple times
at work and paid down a lot of bills and even began to build up my savings account so I decided its probably high time for a new xbox. So about a month ago now, I tried contacting xbox support again, but this time it was a little different because of the virus
and everything going on, so I basically IM'd a help employee and long story short, he seemingly helped me more than any other employee before and gave me a completely different form to fill out and even gave me hope that the problem would be solved in "24-72
hours," and then 3 days later and I still never heard anything back... now its a month later and still never heard anything back.. so its starting to look like I'm just going to completely lose the account now.

I have tons of proof that the account is mine. I logged so much time into so many games on that account. I spent so much money on so many games and DLCs, but it really is starting to feel like years of my life are just wasted and I'll have to completely
start over without my own gamertag. I know that its difficult to act fast on things like this right now because of the virus, and that's completely fine. All I want right now is to be able to buy an xbox and see my account and still have all my progress in
the games I played. I really need help, I need someone that can help me get back into my account. I have reached out to everyone possible and no one is really willing to help me.
