Thoughts On This Game

I recently completed (1000/1000 GS) on the game. I will complement the devs on at least continuing to patch the game to fix broken achievements.

Overall I found the game ok. The learning curve at the beginning due to a complete lack of tutorials is frustrating. You wouldn't know there is a difference between dropping items vs throwing, etc. And the instructions in the menu don't explain anything
as well. I personally had to watch playthrus to even figure out what I was supposed to be doing. However once you get through the first act (which there is only 3 real acts) it gets a little more playable. However many of the puzzles you are forced to solve
are not really logical so for a relatively short game you can spend hours trying to figure out what you are supposed to do (and even when you do know what you are supposed to do, I don't think it was very obvious how someone would have figured it out).

A few jump scares when the neighbor comes out of nowhere, but by the end of my 3rd playthrough of the boss, I really just wanted to leave my neighbor alone.

I'm a PC gamer so I'm used to the concept of one copy, one person. However, the pricing of digital downloads on PC makes it more or less a non-issue. When you're talking games that are $60 for possibly months after release there is a big difference there.

I've never played Oxenfree. I think I'll give a go now that you've piqued my interest.

I definitely recommend it. Like I mentioned in my first comment, I thought it started out slow, but basically didn't put it down once you get through the cave (again, not going to spoil anything.)

I enjoyed it. I ended up playing through it twice and unlocked all of the achievements.

They had Afterparty out to play at Pax East earlier this year. I got to play about 15mins of it. I have to say it was pretty funny. I haven't had a chance to play the full game but it's on my backlog list.But even the short time I did play it, there were
some annoying characters that I encountered. I think I'll still probably give the rest of the game a try at some point though.
