Thoughts on the game: Afterparty

I played through it on Game Pass, and curious how other people felt about this game.

Over the past couple months, I'd see it mentioned here and there, but I wasn't interested until someone mentioned it was being developed by the same studio that made Oxenfree.

Now, Oxenfree was a game that again flew under my radar until it became available through the Games with Gold program. Shortly after I started it, I remember thinking it was going to be some kind of boring teenage drama. Boy was I ever wrong! Without getting
into spoilers, I'll just say once a certain something happens, it kept me completely invested in the story; what was happening and where it was all going. I even played through two or three times in order to get the achievements for different endings.

Afterparty is obviously made by the same studio since both games feature similar gameplay and some pretty good dialogue. However, there was something off. In my opinion, I didn't find the story nearly as interesting in this one. Plus, I thought some of the
characters annoying, and felt like the "gameplay" was even more limited in this one. Besides walking and talking there are a three or four mini-games that are not challenging In addition, I felt like the dialogue options didn't even matter for the story. It
felt like regardless of what you picked, you could still have the same outcome. I played through part of the game again for the other achievements in this game too, but I couldn't help feel like I wanted it to be over with.

For those that played Afterparty, what are your thoughts? And for those that played both game, which one did you enjoy more?
