Well Nintendo is certainly the least popular out of all systems. Any type of innovation from them probably won't help them persuade xbox/ps gamers to transfer to their side.

 

^^^ You're probably right. I'm an old school gamer and I have a special place in my cold, black heart for Nintendo so I get a little defensive anytime someone says something I perceive to be negative about 'em.

 

Guys, I was reading just today where the Wii U was at in the scale of things. Mario Kart Sold 2 million in less then a month and 1 million in one week. Apparently, the console is number 2 in sales at the moment. Reasons being MK8, the Zelda Bundle and a
year in advance on the shelves. With all that I've said here I'm sure the Xb1 will probably outsell ninty's little box. You have to remember there's a much broader community beyond our world here and I myself drift between them. As for Kinect, even though
I'm no fan I feel that MS will sell this quite well as a seperate part of the console, not having it has made the XB1 more affordable and given people the option. As far as development goe's I think there's little difference between the original plan and what
we have now. Look at Blue Estate, it's available on the other big seller sure, don't you guys think that the kinect integration would be the reason we are waiting longer?

 

i went for a ps4 at launch and just got a xbox 1 as well the other day i didnt want kinnect and microsoft releasing the kinnectless 1 is what made me decide now is the time to buy,,,never liked the thought of kinnect or ANY camera type thing for games,,all
i want and need is a joypad and thats it!!!

plus im a kinda paranoid person and dont like the thought of having a camera staring at me lol the nsa are watching haha

 

Consumers can't wait to throw their money at anything compelling enough. Xbox boss saw it going down the same road kinect 1 did, so he opted to drop it and be competitive with Sony. Maybe you should be blaming Sony for coming out with a camera-less option.

I was actually excited to hear about the kinect-less xbox one for 100$ cheaper... But then I thought about it once I seriously considered purchasing an xbox one. If I'm gonna get an xbox one, I'm gonna want a new game to play (titanfall). I will probably
end up buying the kinect some day, so why not just get the titanfall bundle instead of getting the kinect-less xbox + titanfall. Where I live there is 13% tax, so getting a titanfall kinect bundle would cost me 565$, while buying a kinect-less xbox + titanfall
separately would cost me about 520$. I'd rather just save the trouble and get the kinect now for 45$

more.

I was gonna get titanfall for 360, but I had planned on getting it through games on demand which didn't happen, so I figure I'll just wait for the better system to get it. I planned on getting an xbox one today, but spending 565$ will leave me with next
to no money for the rest of the month :/ so I'll have to wait til next month... was also looking forward to playing the destiny beta on the one, but oh well.

 

People like things that are familiar to them, but I think we all like gradual and logical change. There are a lot of failed ideas. Here, check out this list.

Microsoft tried to force Kinect on people, people said no, Microsoft ignored them, people turned their back on Microsoft, Microsoft softened their stance, if people wanted Kinect they would have bought the console, now the people that don't want Kinect can
buy the console, it's win win for all concerned...

 

There will always be a Kinect audience for companies to cater to just like genres of games.

 

I don't think that was it Wilko. Had nothing to do with what people wanted. It had to do with being competitive most of all, and second development for it just wasn't strong, as is always the case. The concepts are great from the wii to the cameras, they
just never really get applied effectively.

 

Yeah it's a shame it was removed so early putting it even lower on a developers list of features. The head tracking feature in BF4 when flying online in hardcore where you can't use 3rd person is great. Also used the leaning feature in the single player.
A more tactical game could put it to good use. Also that simple little flick in DR3 when you get grabbed works great. Not to mention navigating using voice commands and the snap made it feel next gen. I hope it gets continued support.

Shame Sony couldn't match the features with the Playstation camera so both consoles shipped with gesture and voice commands instead of letting it fade away like the move which actually worked really well. They kept those bright lights on every single controller
though.
