Those Special Moments

I'd guess we all have those special gaming moments or levels that remain with us throughout the years and wondered which have stood out for you?

What got me thinking was my current Gears of War re-run and landing at the 'Downpour' level, the driving rain, thunderstorm and lighting are still as atmospheric and beautiful as ever and even hold their on all these years on. It's a nerve-jangling, wonderful
slice of gaming.

And another shout, as I didn't give it that much thought before typing this, is the all-time genius of Call of Duty 4 and 'Ghillies in the Mist', an absolute dream of a level, so intense and fraught, with perfect pacing and a barnstorming climax. For me
the greatest level I've played in a any game spanning my 30+ years of gaming.

i'm sure I'm not the only person who has experienced a special moment on Xbox LIVE, I myself have many.

Name one special moment you've had online, can be anything from a close friend you made to an awesome versus match!

 

"Hunted: The Demon's Forge" - New Type of Action RPG

Playing through it at the moment. It's ok but nothing special

 

Ghillies in the Mist is an amazing mission and when ever i pop in CoD4 that's usually the first mission i play.

I have a ton of memorable moments but one that always sticks in my mind is constructing your Lightsaber for the first time in Star Wars:Knights of the Old Republic(Double bladed all day)

 

One of the old moments I can think of was when I completed call of duty 3 on veteran difficulty, was so impressed with myself xD

 

My special moment was on Modern Warfare 2 during a search and destroy mission. It was my first try at that mode and I really had no Idea what was going on. I was alone on my team it was tied 3 rounds each the bomb was planted and there were two enemies left
on the other team and I was certain I was ***. Some how tho I manage to kill the enemy and proceeded to the bombsite ( this is where it gets special) Nothing I did would defuse it I saw no prompts I was freaking out then Boom the other bomb exploded and my
team lost the game............ I had to leave that lobby lol.

 

Actually I have to give the folks and Bungie credit where it's due.

A video game hasn't made me scream like a girl in the face of an enemy for a very long time like with "Destiny".

Not really since "Shadows Of The Empire" when I first encountered IG88 and Boba Fett.

 

I have a few.

First MOAB- I remember when I was playing MW3 and I was playing Infected on Terminal and I was camping in the far corner by the plane. I was trying not to get infected and all of a sudden I
got a M.O.A.B killstreak. I was so excited that my reaction were like those people who see those "sick killcams". lol Then I died during it.

I also got an KEM Strike in Ghosts from a care package in Strikezone. Cool.

Cooperating in the Rat Nest- I can't exactly remember what game mode I was playing in Halo 3 but I do remember that it was in Rat's Nest. Normally when you'd play a FPS online, you would normally
hear trash-talking kids and excessive profanity. This was those rare times (post-party chat apparently) that my team was actually collaborating commands to us. It almost felt like I was actually in the game. Subsequently, we did good that match. One of those
few times where actually talking to your headset benefits the game.

Bizarre GTA- I was playing GTA Online with a couple friends privately. She was giving me tips on how to make
legitimate money in GTA Online and then we were causing old-fashioned rampages in Los Santos. And some races here and there. We were playing through the break of dawn lol.

 

Halo 3.

Both campaign, and multiplayer.

The maps still hold so much nostalgia :3

 

Reaching Kuldahar and being welcomed by the theme music in Icewind Dale.

Learning that your character is Darth Revan in Knights of the Old Republic.

The dude's girlfriend getting shot in The Darkness.

Being driven around by Samual L Jackson, and later being coerced by James Woods in GTA San Andreas.

Alister getting shot and killed in Tomb Raider: Underworld. I cheered. If Zip had been killed too I think I'd have thrown a party.

The big reveal of 'the cycle' in Mass Effect.

"Would you kindly?" - BioShock.

... I could go on and on. Heh ha. {XD

 

Gears of War the entire campaign. All three honestly, but the first one is where it all started.

Halo 3, so many epic campaign moments. Fighting the Scarab was awesome.

Waaay too many memories in the multiplayer and custom games to even count.

Left 4 Dead 2 as well, I spent countless hours playing that with friends.

 

One that springs into my mind immediately is Mass Effect 3 when Liara came and surprised me with this box that held a bunch of information in it just in case they didn't defeat the reapers. She wanted to add something in there about the hero Shepard and
I was so touched, she was my lover in the game too so that moment was awesome!

 

The original Gears of War had many epic moments that I still remember.

 

OP, "Ghillies in the Mist" Is a special moment, particularly in Veteran mode. I think MW2 was the last good cod story though MW and WAW are better imo. My next Choice is "No Russians" In mw2, I just don't waiting in lines. I honestly didn't know about this
map until I played it, I was like,,,,,, WOW

Glad to be part of one of your favorite gaming moments. You riding atop that truck while I was driving willy-nilly through the hills was hysterical.

I'd list more special gaming moments, but there are too many to list. I'd probably be repeating myself too because this thread has been done at least a dozen times.
