I know I've posted this in a different thread but the more I boot it the more I hate it. I'm literally am staring at the home screen and it's so unengaging that I don't even feel like exploring what's available. Mind you the previous one wasn't great either and always found it odd that it liked to cut things in half. If you want to make a home screen that's tablet / phone friendly for xCloud even there you'll have to do better than that. I can't even fathom the idea of using keyboard and mouse for this.

It is an utterly criminal waste of space. I like minimalism as much as the next person but there's "little" and there's "not trying at all". I know we have to be "positive" with constructive criticism but there's literally nothing good about this. To give perspective, I'm on a Project Scorpio XBOX ONE X with 970 series SSDs as external drives using a 2GB fibre line.

Everything is static, dull, lifeless. I don't care for the "Discover" section, I've never used it. It pollutes the UI with more rectangles of things I do not care for. HEY YOU SHOULD GET GAME PASS ULTIMATE. My GPU membership expires in April 2022, oh thanks XBOX. I'm aware you have to advertise things to certain people but I don't want it. The PS4 dashboard allows you to turn off featured content. Please allow me to do the same. The PS4 dashboard also has themes and lively elements. (fyi I don't even own a PS4). Here you just get more dead massive blocks. It looks even more hilarious with a single colour background instead of game art on a large telly (in my case a 75" and an 82" set). You blatantly are going for the tablet / phone UI/UX and it's hilariously bad.

Have a pane, have another pane on top of that to load a laughably slow, bogged down app that needs a complete rewrite (hi My Games & Apps, I see you're still unable to deal with a large library properly. Let's not talk about the store). The only positive thing I'll say is that the slow loading tabs (Mixer being the worst offender here followed by the Game Pass one) at least don't bog down the main home screen, they're just slow to load when you click on the icon for them.

What's wrong with the XBOX beta PC app UI? Can't you adapt a version of that in lively, interesting ways for the home screen? That app loads my messages about 10 times faster than my console can. There's also been that leak of live tile free (and imho terrible looking, Apple like) start menu down the line for Win10. Is that likely fluent design philosophy going to cross over as well eventually?

Who the hell is in charge of UI/UX convergence at MS? (I sort of know the answer to that and the lack of communication between teams and departments but that's not the case being made here)

This is B A D. It's lazy as hell. It feels like a child toy fitting a 3-4 differently shaped pegs in the right holes. Is that the level we are to expect from now on? Is that how "difficult" to navigate the current UI for the layman out there is so you need to dumb it down this much?

    Come on guys.
