If your other profiles are affected on that particular console and got an error message “Your privacy settings prevent chat with some people”, you probably have a Temporary Ban Console, mate.

any fake messages just rate down, they will either eventually dissappear with negative votes, and they may be added onto the list of sinners, so probably more likely to get raided as a human, either by players or vagrants.

playing on ps3 here, messages seem fine for now, a few fake ones but whatever. im guessing there would be a lot more fake messages on the xbox version.

I leave helpful signs whenever I can, but no one ever rates me up! Rate damn you!

Later in the game, you'll get an item that will allow you to leave those messages on the ground. Some of them may tell you hints, like weakness: lighting, or some of them may lie, and say, safe here, then a frigging dragon comes and breath fire on you.

Some of them are really well placed, and some of them are DEAD obvious its a lie. Like you may see some messages, they will say, "try attacking" and whats directly in front of you is a merchant...............You gotta have your wits about you man and not
fall for their tricks.
