    I have been a loyal Xbox owner since the first one in 2001.....13 years....let me say that again 13 years have I purchased, stayed with and used your product. This is after the "red ring of death" saga and many other issues that I will not rehash because
    everyone knows. I buy an Xbox One several months ago and have been limited due to everytime I hit certain spots (no idea why) in a game my game boots me right to the dashboard. I have used the ghetto fix (or tried to) in all three manners, I have restarted
    games to see if that fixes it only to find the issue occurs in another area, I have changed my settings and I have power cycles while treating the machine like it were a ragtag old computer that I didn't care about by connecting and disconnecting. Yet....it
    persist. I start a game (any game), I play the game, and at one area or another baam....right to dashboard completely ruining my experience.

    On top of that you have a considerable amount of other owners stating they are "dealing" with similar issues and it is equally ruining their experience. You go to Youtube for a fix and, again, users dealing with the issue having to rely on an unreliable
    ghetto fix that simply is NOT WORKING for everyone. You go to the forums, you go to large gaming forums, you go anywhere and everywhere where the Xbox One is spoken about and guess what, yep, users having their gaming experience interrupted and ruined by the
    SAME issue. Not different, not "kinda close", but the same, exact and in totality. Have we, the people who pay for your product and thus pay your salary while allowing you to have your job heard a single...even ONE public comment such as "we are aware of the
    issue and will take care of it", no, we have not. We have heard nothing, nada, zip, nil and zilch.

    Let me be clear and blunt, this is unacceptable to every extent of what customer service is defined as. I doubt that the numerous people who paid $500+ dollars for your product want to see silence and I doubt those same people want to put up with a ghetto
    fix that an unpaid Microsoft employee had to concoct to even potentially, yes potentially, be able to use the product they paid for. In 13 years I have not written a single message on any of your forums and I think that should tell you something. This issue
    is unacceptable and we are not some "take their money and forget about them" situation, no, we are a loyal customer base that has stuck with your company and I (for one) demand you do your damn job and fix the issue on a machine that we paid a half a grand
    for. I don't care about a new friend update, I don't care about color coordination and I care even less about what metro avatar costumes you have added. What I care about is what I paid for, gameplay and the ability to come home, sit down, relax and play on
    a system I paid for and I cannot because you are not doing your job and addressing an issue that is widespread. No, this is not just me pointing my finger saying "me, me, I", no, this is a widespread and ridiculous issue. I don't care if it's RAM, I don't
    care if it's a lens, I don't care if some missile from Afghanistan flew off course and struck a field which knocked down a tree which then scared a raccoon that then got hit by a car while the care swurved out of control which then hit your building which
    then caused your customer service team to spill coffee on their underwear causing them to forget their job, I simply...do....no care.....about any and all excuses. What I care about is to be able to enjoy the product I paid for, that is it. Amazing, isn't
    it? I am not asking for anything special, I am not asking you to do anything Barnum and Bailey oriented, I am asking, no I am telling you to fix the issue.....If you don't fix the issue, fine, that will just show your customer base who you really are, but
    rest assured there will come a time when the Xbox One is obsolete and the "next gen" will be out and you may feel it in that ever important wallet of yours then when that customer base says "not this time" and changes platform.

    In any normal business if a customer has a legitimate complaint it is handled or, at the very least, addressed. If the same business was dealing with similar/widespread issues and nothing was done about it, they wouldn't be in business long. You are taking
    advantage of your base and that is appalling and it needs to be handled. So, do it.

    Realistic damage will also affect the victim so bad idea on that end!

    And this will happen every time near release, all the previous installments had the same issues on release and with time the lobby becomes more mature as better more experienced racers take place.

    Would be nice if anyone from MS actually read this section of the forums.. unfortunately, they do not... Also could be the odd chance you have a broken unit.. in that case it is up to you to contact MS support.... not use a youtube "ghetto" fix as you put
    it..not like MS can magically fix something for you if they do not know there is a problem..

    I feel bad you are having issues...but coming to a General discussion forum used by other gamers is not going to help you. Contacting support directly... waling through their process and possibly getting a new XB seems like the route that might get something
    accomplished...

  9. Yea, you live on another planet than the rest of us thinking that all manufactured items will be working 100% all the time, and that they don't care and don't want to fix it.

    It truly sux that you are experiencing this, but this rant is just, well, hopeless.

    Call support, return the Xbox for another or wait until it gets fixed. Or stop buying any product, since nothing but absolute perfection isn't appreciated.

    Nobody has a magic want they can wave and a second later it's fixed. It's a process of finding out what is happening, to how many, what will be the solution and doing the solution. It takes time. And yours are probably not the only fix they need to make
    either.

    If you have tried it all, then go out and enjoy nature, go out on a date, do something and before you know it, it's fixed.

    Still.. i feel for you, as it sux.

    I should have added in my rant that I have called support, on two occasions and on both occasions I was told (verbatim on one account) that "if a user has discovered a fix and posted it on Youtube we will, more than likely, not be addressing the issue."
    Thank you for reminding me about that (and by the way, I am not alone in that as several on Youtube are actually reporting similar responses).

    So this is not a situation of me ranting just to be an e-tool but I have basically exhausted everything except a system send in/repair but the fact is the issue has to do with RAM consolidation and the machine not removing the access thus a patch could very
    easily fix the issue. That is what is irritating is that they really do have a ton of people *** like I am, the issue could easily be fixed (hell, give me your network for an hour, Microsoft, and I will do it....), and they are simply doing nothing, not even
    making a comment about it. So this isn't some destructive, killer issue like red ring that requires a repair but simply a patch job and, man oh man, they just aren't doing their job and that has always rubbed me wrong (with any company). For me to write a
    message about it on the Xbox forums shows my disgust (to me at least) because the last thing I want is my topic/message to get mixed in with some of those "requests" which are just outrageous....

    I do not who said if you find something on youtube.. we wlll not help any further.. most fixes like that might void your warranty for other issues...

    besides.. support works like this.. the first guy you speak to is a noob page turner doing the ritual "is it plugged in?"routine... you need to say.. I need to speak to someone higher than you...

    from what I have seen from the dash boarding is a bad HDMI cable.. it looses connection and reverts back to "home" check those first... the inputs are crap on the XB1.. wires are ALWAYS loose... also check the power wire from the brick and the kinect wire...
    but if you dd all these and the power cycle doesnt help... sounds like you have a bad unit...

    So OP... Have you applied the March update yet? Do you have the " Resume game quickly (Beta)" tagged if you haven't done the update yet?

    Well I haven't played DR in awhile (due to this actually). In fact I haven't played the unit much after that BS and was waiting for them to system fix it but then Thief came out (good game by the way - I disagree with the reviews so if you guys are interested,
    check it out - enjoyable stealth game). Anyhow, you're partially correct on it having to do with games but more over it has to do with areas or spots in said games. Example, Thief I am on Chapter 6 (quite far in the game, probably 3/4 complete), have cruised
    the game with not a single issue with the dashboard crash. So I am thinking to myself, "ok good they patched it." However, I reach a certain spot (nothing special about the spot, no load area, no large event, just the end of a hallway) and it kicks me to the
    dashboard. This repeats about 5 times so I load my game from a different spot (essentially restarting the chapter) because in Thief you don't have to continue with one route as there are many so I went a different route. No issues, all is fine and then, a
    different spot (again, nothing special, just a dark room with a few closets). I try this a few times and everytime that spot hits, same problem

    So I check online to see if there are any "new" ghetto fixes as it is too late to call them (I plan to tomorrow - and I did not speak to the donut cart pusher the last time but I did speak to "the manager on duty" and she actually said that - I can link
    the conversation if you wish as I recorded it, well I can later once I get to work as it's on that computer). Anyhow, I go through the normal motions that some say are working and some say aren't. Such as:

    1) Hold the console button down for 10-15 seconds.

    2) Turn Xbox One on and while it is on disconnect brick, wait for light to turn off, plug in, turn machine back on/machine will reset itself

    3) Take disk out, clean surface (I feel like I am playing the original NES again...remember those days? "blow in the game cart and all is ok!).

    4) Clean your hardrive access RAM

    So I handled all those and yet the issue still persists on Thief. So, I then put Rome in, no issues but I didn't play much of it (I will say I never had any issues with Rome). Dead Rising I put in, dashboard crash. I have no other disk based games.

    Hell, one "fix" is claiming he got it working by downloading the BlueRay app which cracked me up to say the least. So I guess the short story after the long story is that I honestly have not a single clue why it is deciding to pick certain areas (especially
    after 30 hours of gameplay) and I further I have no clue why they are not even addressing it. Sure I understand I just posted but this issue has been pretty much known about since after release and they haven't even said a word about it.

    Anyhow, I will give your suggestions a try and hope it works. I truly hope I don't have to send it back for a repair job and deal with that but if I do, *** happens, and I will. But my experience with systems tells me that all they need to do is hot fix
    it and worry more about functionality issues and less about friends list beautifying. Thanks for your advice man and if anyone else knows any special "trick" in the meantime I'd appreciate it.
