    Is there a way for me to change parental control on my son's Xbox? His mum has all the account passwords, who he doesn't have contact with. My understanding is that if I reset his Xbox it'd render his account dead, cos he wouldn't have the passwords to regain access. Is there a way around this,whereby I create a new account that acts as the adult account where I have access to parental controls on his console. Without losing all his saved data.

    That won't work. The disc is required to be in the disc drive to prove you own the game. Since the Series S doesn't have a disc drive, that wouldn't be possible and you can only use digital games on that console.

    Hey there Pie!

    It sounds like he's being blocked from purchasing content by a parental control to me. I would suggest taking a look at this page (support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-parental-control)
    and then take a look at the parental controls placed on your son's account and see if that's blocking him from being able to purchase DLC and such.

    Yep, this is an issue for me too. My son just bought a 360. I setup what I wanted for the family controls and it requires my parental code anytime he wants to watch netflix.

    It also seems strange that the NFL app has tons of video and yet it does not require parental authorization. There really needs to be a "whitelist" approach for parentally selected apps.
