This interface is SO horrible

Olimonster. The Internet speed thing is total bs, it gets used way to much. I'm on 76 Down 21 up and my system though faster than LK's, it's slower than others who are on a slow connection.

It's definitely looking like the X1 has different UI's, I'm not sure how or why But something isn't right.

 

^ I've seen posted that some are 100% convinced it's down to internet speed lol ( I'm not saying that myself ) but like Goat said, if it was then why does he have issues on 76 down and 21 up?

I guess there could be so many possible causes. I remember in the few months after the Xbox One launched there were a few posts on the Xbox Support forums where people were having quite a few issues with the controller disconnecting, some posted they solved
it but disabling and unplugging Kinect, I'm not saying Kinect is the cause here by the way.

For the people having issues, have you contacted Support to see if they can help?

 

Tbh Lofty, even though I know I have a slow UI compared to some, I don't think support could/would help. LK on the other hand, his UI has definitely got issue's going that slow, I would lose my temper in his shoe's.

Going back to the whole Internet speed argument. The reason I know that isn't the problem is the evidence is posted earlier. Up until just after Xmas is was on a crappy 5mbps connection, then BT infinity finally made it to my area, so going from 5mbps to
76mbps has made absolutely zero difference to my X1 UI speed, the only obvious differences come from downloading games....which is lightning quick now.

 

I was paying attention to how quickly i can switch between functions last night and in general most things on my console take between 5 and 8 seconds to be loaded and functional. (boots in 14 seconds from insta on)

 

For mine to actually boot up in instant on, it is very quick. Starting games is also instant, just when it comes to apps things slow down. Like they achievements, it's quicker for me to load up smartglass and view achievements than it is to actually load
the achievements on my X1.

 

Takes me few seconds and apps open no issues here Am so glad i got my one back

 

What are you using to draw with? If you do a lot of art on your PC it really would be worth investing in a decent art tablet, though they can get quite expensive. Most programs aren't meant for input at an artists speed.

Congrats on your little boy BTW. I was wondering why I hadn't seen you around the forum for a long while and a child certainly explains that.

Yeah I know I have to invest in something better.

I need something that allows me to draw with both hands at ones then my speed is normal.

Right now I use pen and mouse but of corse you cant do it simultaneously which is slowing me down.

I only have a Wacom Intuos thats all.

It has to less input I can't go into detail.

I also have no good software that does what I like.

It was originally to see if I can and like drawing on the computer.

But I am a good artist in reality if I am allow to say this xD

It was predictable that a computer is awesome to me since it gives you more options at ones.

I spent so much money for paint and brushes and converses etc.

It would be worth it for me but I do not have the money

Like I said I dont know which one would work for me.

I would have to try some out to be able to tell.

If I could wish for one I would like to be able to use 2 pens at ones where each has its own cursor.

Botch can move individual to each other.

I then wanna give each of the pens 1 or 2 parallel lines that follow the first one.

I know I can later add all this but why later if I can do it all at ones?

I have a pretty strange mind and I wanna make use of it.

I need art to relax cause everything bores me after a while.

My xbox is so helpful with this cause it manage to make me laugh a lot about games and enjoy gaming.

I wont know what to do without xbox lol

My son loves Xbox too of corse so I was busy with him then busy explaining him some xbox stuff.

He also draws alone with the tablet.

I only watch that he can balance his self on the chair while in such passion lol

I guess I infected him with that.

Maybe the problem isn't with the design ( I rather like the UI) but with the assembly of each console. I don't really know about building electronic equipment as far as wiring and circuitry and soldering, but my wife and I have the exact same phone with
the exact same apps loaded. Bought same store same day. Yet hers runs way faster than mine. And my phone gets way hotter to the touch. Everything is updated exactly the same. Only thing I can think of is assembly maybe one has more sodder or something. Does
anyone know if differences in the quality of assembly can cause problems that were mentioned? ( with the console not my phone. Just used that as an example.)

 

Do they even use soldering in electronics any more? Seems like everything is easily swappable components for the most part. This gets clipped here that gets plugged there and so on. Forgive my ignorance.

 

Probably way off the mark but ...

Doing a quick Google search about Xbox One's running slow ( achievements etc ) and I see 2 people post saying they only had issues since using an external hard drive.

Any of you folks that are having issues use one of these?

 

No, I have a 3TB external HD and I have no issues. I will say though the UI (IN MY OPINION) is a shade slower than my Xbox 360. This mostly applies to starting a party, and inviting friends.

 

Since Launch to about a week ago I only had the Internal. Everything is on External now.

 

The mystery continues... it's a long shot but maybe MS briefly changed there supplier of HDDs for example? Different internal drives could cause different interface speeds...

 

The Xbox 360 had different suppliers of its DVD drives, and people reported different performance with them too.

I think you may be onto something Scott. Perhaps there are different hard drives in the One.
