This gen is the best so far....

I was having bad week, that was totally special

 

I'm absolutely loving this Gen so far. Did most of my early gaming on Apple 2C 2E and the fantastic 2GS. 360 I really only played halo ,Cod and Bad company and BF3. This gen I've cracked my gaming wide open and feel like I'm gaming back in the 80's again
but with beautiful graphics.

 

As far a cross play goes I'm not that keen. There are plenty of Xboxlive users to game with on Xbox. I could probably handle a PS4 X1 link up but PC with KB&M on a game like battlefield or halo? No no no.

 

I don't have a problem with playing people with K&M, as long as I know they have, and have the option to use it myself, I will still use a controller until I get the point where I can't compete, at which point I would switch, however I don't think I would
get to that point as I simply aren't good enough.

I don't think everyone with K&M will beast, controller users will be able to keep up to a level IMO, but I would love to see a proper test and I would love to try it myself.

 

Things I like about this gen is

- the stuff you can do with Kinect

- games look better

- faster Windows 10 power UI than Xbox 360's UI, tho some aspects I prefer more on 360 is it's Social Page and the Xbox Guide quick guide menu and the 360 UI looks more kiddy which I kinda like sometimes

- exchange voice messages between this gen and last gen Xbox

- Minecraft (performance is much greater than the 360 version, it takes only about 1 second to save a game, on 360 it can take as long as up to 30 seconds sometimes to save), Kinect Sports Rivals (woo I love wake racing) Neverwinter, Zoo Tycoon, COD BO3
zombies, and some other games.

- I LOVE HOW XBOX 1 DOESN'T ABRUPTLY DISCONNECT ME FROM XBL EVERYTIME THERE'S AN UPDATE. This is a really annoying UI/OS controlled thing that happens on Xbox 360 especially when in XBL Parties with friends and people. And like when my 360 console is done
with the Update "can't connect to Xbox Live Party" or sometimes it struggles to sign me back in taking even 1-2 minutes just for it to sign me back in and resume my activities.

 

.... and bringing back Xbox 360 Features to Xbox 1. The Xbox boss acknowledged this in an interview video I watched from last year in how that they know a lot of people enjoyed the features and had such a fun time on Xbox 360 and how they want to continue
that experience on Xbox 1. And backwards compatibility. And how some games run natively in 1080p on it, showing it's not just a cheap box. And that I can use the same profile without issues or creating a new profile on two different platforms. Exclusive games
like Zoo Tycoon, Screamride, Halo, Forza. And maybe soon our console's may be able to talk back to us like our android or apple phones via Cortana since Xbox 1 has like a Windows 10 based UI, it would be fun for our console's to talk back to us. Netflix finally

@HairyLoveSpuds - Those Amiga demos were crazy at the time, it was the era of creativity. My a500 came with Kick off and F/A 18 interceptor, I previously had the A1000 though at the time I could only upgrade it to 512k. Under the cover was the design teams
signatures and a dogs paw print, technology was still fascinating at the time. Messing around on the BBS felt so futuristic even if it did take hours to transfer 1mb. I messed around with a controller and switched the joystick up to an extra button, technically
making a 2 button controller for platformers. In this day and age you can't mess with anything without being banned or disconnected, everything is super easy and you don't need to learn a thing. As gaming and general nerdism slowly transforms from discovery
and fascination to "what brands are the best", we have gained nothing at all except prettier graphics. Sure I like this gen, but I'm still a gamer so that's just logic.

 

I love Kinect Sports Rivals, Screamride, and how Minecraft loads and saves worlds at least 4x faster than on Xbox 360. I also love how if you have a poor connection to games like Minecraft, your console won't crash. Sometimes when I join friends worlds on
Xbox 360, my console crashes (it's a slim console model). And this certainly doesn't just happen to me! It happens to my friends and others too. But Xbox 1 is up to the task with an 8 core AMD Jaguar processor and 8GB RAM not just 512MB RAM. So it's got plenty
of umph and memory. It also has super fast ESRAM (along with the 8GB DDR3 RAM), even though it's only a small amount, ESRAM is faster than even GDDR5 memory (192GB/s vs 178GB/s).

And Daveyboy, I LOVE exchanging voice messages between Xbox 360 and Xbox 1. Some of my friends voice message me to come play with them on Xbox 360 when I'm on Xbox 1. Even when I use my Kinect for voice messages, it still translates perfectly to Xbox 360
recipients.

 

Gears of War on 360 had such a wow factor for me that i didnt play anythign else for a year solid and i never even touched ranked matches!

I've put an absolute shed load of time into Destiny this gen and i imagine i will be the same with Division. I've got a backlog of amazing games to play too (Fallout 4, Witcher 3, Deadpool, Black ops 3 amongst them)

This gen has been amazing so far and hopefully can only get better

 

My most fond memories come from the Turbo Grafx 16. Not a lot of people played it, but I enjoyed it immensely.

Next to that is the Sega Genesis, lots of fond memories there too.

Xbox 360 (Never owned the original xbox, but played some of the games on the 360)

Xbox One (Right now I'm ranking this 3rd on my "best memories" list, and it may yet rank higher)

Eventually I will get a PS4 but in no big rush for that

 

The biggest things I like about this Gen is the graphics they are much better than on the previous Gens (as they should be). Also, the games run much smoother and are very snappy and responsive.
