This gen is the best so far....

Don't see the point of crossplay....

I never had problems to find players to play with....So,adding more players won't change anything....

Just more hackers and cheaters and also more servers issues/problems

Far Cry 3 is the best FPS this gen and Witcher 2 is brilliant.

 

It's not about finding players to play with Tzar.

It's about being able to play with people on other systems. It means a system is not a barrier to playing games with gamers everywhere, no matter what system they on.

When i play RL on the PS4, i don't have to worry about Specs, Keyboards, Mouse, Etc (Could be my loss - Although i cannot get used to it. My boy has) But i get excellent graphics Specs like for like in price, and it is not a barrier to me playing against
people who have ultra wicked PC's. I have met some excellent people on the PC, and Via Steam, because of it.

Cross-Play opens up another Avenue for gaming with other people, you wouldn't normally game with. How can that be bad.

There is no Cons to it worth considering, Only pluses.

Like i said, If Cross play was open on X1/PS4/PC, It would benefit gamers, It is another way to game. Any extra way to game is a bonus.

As to any Hackers and server issues. I will just say Halo, COD, Etc, Etc, You get them on all platforms, regardless.

 

Cross play isn't about finding people to play with, its about reducing the barriers between groups of people.

If you can explain how cross play will increase hackers and cheating, and cause server issues I would love to know.

If anything it should encourage better coding from developers.

I also disagree with adding players to a player pool is a bad thing, the bigger the active population of an game, the more support it gets, the more diverse the player base is, the more likely the lobbies will be full, they will be full of different people.

 

Funny,didn't use the word "bad"......But i guess when i say something it must be bad and negative....I'm fine with that.

Just didn't saw any point.....At least,for me.Maybe the day a game requires 50 millions players to be played,i might be interested.

If they are,let say,5000 hackers/cheaters on Xbox live and you add to that PSN and PC hackers/cheaters,it will increase the number of hackers/cheaters on "my platform and my online games".

It will increase numbers of "good" people but also "bad" people.And really don't care to meet them.

And not sure of having cross platform games will encourage devs to do a better job.We saw some franchises becoming multiplatform over these past decades (Battlefield,Elder Scrolls,GTA,ect) and i don't think it really help devs to works better....Just making
more money.There is no real benefits with cross platform for devs/publishers point of view (also some players buy 2 or 3 versions to play with their friends on different platforms).....PC evolve overtime.....So imagine that BF 4 is crossplatform (64 players)
but BF 5 won't be because with new PC techs it allows 128 players and couldn't run on current gen consoles.Very frustrating,especially after playing hours with some nice PCs players on BF4.....

For me there are enough people to play with,that's all i need....

I tend to agree with Tzar here. There's no real benefit for developers for cross platform play even though it would ge cool.

 

i disagree. the best were nes/snes/genesis/n64. games then challenged you to play smart, unlike today. sure the graphics ae nicer, but ill take techmo bowl over madden 16 (not including madden of the 90s)

other game types i am ok with

 

^^ Some games are way more challenging. Play all games on the hardest level if you don't get enough of a challenge.

 

@Tzar, not one point you mentioned is good, therefore by default my use generalization of the use of bad is fair IMO.

And your point isn't cross play will increase issues, its increasing the player base will increase issues irrespective of cross play, since you explains use increased numbers, and no real technical suggestions.

However if you take a game like warframe, on xbox, the player base is significantly smaller than the PC, there are missions which benefit from player number, on xbox the lobbies are all empty, on PC they are generally full, cross play would allow console
games to fill lobbies making them more player base.

On Destiny the player base is getting smaller by the day, allowing cross play would allow it to last that bit long. Especially the old bits people are finding it hard to find groups.

A bigger player bases is always a good thing for a game, especially on games which are looking for a long life.

Add micro transactions to the game and clean up on platform exclusive skins is how I would profit from it. Rocket League, with one team in Xbox skins the other in PS skins would be cool.

Seems crossplay isn't a priority and not having it (with "empty servers") not a problem for the gaming industry......

If it was really a "must have",a "money maker"....Crossplay will be already here.

Barriers falls when money is involve.

I don't really need to have a good or a bad point,the reality is here.

Soon,there will be a Destiny 2,full of players and slowly Bungie will shut down servers on last gen systems (because i don't think they will keep making new Destiny on PS3/Xbox 360)

Warframe,as long as devs are making money,having their servers full or not,it doesn't really matter.At least devs are still supporting Warframe on Xbox one with updates,even with "empty servers"

 

I think most devs would prefer cross platform multi player, it's ms and Sony that are control freaks.

 

Sony are quite open to cross platform gaming. DCU Online, Final Fantasy, Rocket League, SFV are all cross plat with PC, Portal 2 is also cross play with PS3, PC, Mac and Linux, the upcoming game by Epic will also be cross plat on PS4 and PC. With MS pushing
Win10 gaming so much I'd be surprised if they don't embrace cross platform going forward.
