'This Gamertag isn't allowed'

I would simply like to change my name from '' to 'FluxOrbit', but FluxOrbit is 'not allowed'. Why? It isn't tied to any active account. There are no profiles that have that name. It is simply 'not allowed'. Why? Can this issue be resolved so
I can pay to have my name changed please?

Most likely because it's too many characters. With the new gamertag system you can have 12.

@Warrior2387 - There's no way to contact the enforcement team regarding gamertag availability, but you can try contacting support through http://support.xbox.com/contact-us although
typically if the system says a gamertag is not allowed, there's not much that can be done.

I'll give that a try, but I can't seem to find where I can go to do that. Any pointers? Anyway, thank you for the response!

I can't say for sure but maybe because "flux" is too close to the "F" word. Shoot enforcement and or support a message asking why, they will have a more accurate answer and could help you get around that.

FluxOrbit = 9 characters. 9 is not greater than 12 so that's not the issue!
