"This game requires an update, but the update couldn't be found"

Tried to load up Metal Gear Rising on my 360 for the first time in a few months and I keep getting this message: http://i.imgur.com/b3IS93a.png

I have 3 storage devices: a default 4GB flash memory, a hard drive connected inside the console, and an external hard drive connected through the USB.

The profile on the flash memory seems to have been corrupted, but it still shows the game update for Metal Gear Rising.

There's no error code listed, as you can see above. I've already tried clearing the system cache. I have not tried reformatting the flash memory. The only thing I can figure is that I need to download the required update to another device and transfer it
or reformat it.

Not able to play cod black ops II.

Put in game and it keeps saying " this game requires an update, but the update couldn't be found". I haven't played it in awhile

Update not found

In starting Skyrim I get a system message saying "update not found - This game requires a update, but the update couldn't be found." I have cleared my system cache but this action has not affected this issue. Any ideas?

I'd suggest looking for anything related to the game, and deleting it off of all of your storage.

Upon launching the game, I receive this message:

"Update Not Found

This game requires an update, but the update couldn't be found.

For help, visit [Xbox support website]."

And yes, this is on Xbox 360.

I'm afraid I cannot do that. What I just did though is unplugged my router and then I tried to play minecraft. Now, it says "This game requires an update, but the update couldn't be found."

Have you tried the game with a different profile on your console? Also, have you tried the disc on a friend's console? Please let me know the results of both!

since deleting and recovering my profile every game i have put in requires an update and they all updated and work fine except for my favorite game fifa

I've been playing the game using the same disc regularly for a couple years with no problem on this console and another one at work. (firefighter =] ) I've done the usual steps of unplugging the console for 5 minutes, deleting cache, deleting profile (not
game contents) and nothing has changed the symptoms. I thought it might have been a heat issue and have changed the location of the console to a well ventilated space in a room kept at 68*F (or 20*C) and a small fan blowing over the top of it in a way to
pull heat away instead of backing it up inside. I even took the console to work with me and connected to the internet there to see if it were my own internet connection causing issue, same results. What perplexes me so much is that it will connect and play
normal immediately after I load it back up. When online, the error page flashes too fast to fully read and goes straight to the xbox home dash. When offline in story mode, it actually stays up long enough to read, " This game requires an update, but the
update could not be found. ". I'm guessing both errors say the same thing due to the sentence being what appears to be the same length physically on the display.... but I'm not totally positive. It's aggravating since I'm paying for an online service that
was intended solely for this game and can't utilize it. Oh well, one fortunate thing is it's allowed me to figure out that "Live" has youtube, amazon prime, etc on it that I didn't know existed. lol Thanks for your response and any help. Cheers.
