This current profile is not allowed to play on Xbox LIVE

My son cannot play Call of Duty: Black Ops under his account.

I have enabled content and permissions. I have set the console to be my home account, so he should have access to my Gold account.

Please advise.

What is the error he is receiving? Also, are you able to play BLACK OPS on your Xbox on your profile?

 

The error is: "This current profile is not allowed to play on Xbox LIVE"

And, yes, on my account I can play on line without issue.

Well, the simple answer is for him to create a new account. That being said, most people don't want to lose their hard earned rep and achievements...not to mention their identity. One thing to check as well would be to make sure the "Child Privacy"
settings are correct. See link below for more info:

Another option that is more rational would be to delete the account from the console and re-download it again. If you'd like some help with doing that just let me know.

The more "extreme" cause could be that his gamertag was flagged by Xbox after being reported and found to have been a part of something that violates the Code of Conduct put forth by Microsoft. You can check out this link in regards to the reputation

You can also check this link out to read up on the how/why of suspensions and bans for both the Gamertag (which this could be) and console (which it is clearly not).

It is the same for me. I get this message since the last system update. It is frustrating because I was able to connect to black ops servers before!!! Why all of a sudden you have to be a gold member to connect to the black ops server?

It's always been the case that you need an Xbox Live Gold membership to play online games. However you shouldn't need a Gold subscription to play Single Player modes. Are you able to do that currently?
