This Connection is affecting more than JUST Charter cable users. My connection is terrible

I have no usage of Charter Cable whatsoever, and I use another major provider not affiliated with Charter Cable. However, tonight, XBOX LIVE is just unbearable again.

Seems the farther East you go, the worse the ability to connect to XBOX Live. I would amost suggest the East part of the U.S, and Europe, are having difficulties, due to some bottleneck in a major router or pipeline somewhere.

This is actually a broken record, as in a broken vinyl record. XBOX Live is constantly breaking down now. On average, its having 2 major outages a week now over the past 3 months. Be it core services, Chat services, Logging in, or just plain being able
to use multiplayer.

The Charter Cable issue, I know has been posted 3 THREE different times as a support issue. It is if they have no intention of fixing it. They are passing the buck or something. Probably doing the same thing to Microsoft that other cable companies did
to Netflix, until they meet their demands. We are losing Net Neutrality and I wouldn't be surprised if Charter isn't using some loophole to gouge the Live service in order to sell them a speedier line.

Meanwhile, WE , the gamers suffer because we cannot connect. It's created a bottleneck of internet traffic, and trickles down to a lot more people than just Charter

"It's just lag" and "any modding is rare" might be standard but they're also correct, so don't bash them, particularly when connection is responsible for more than you might realise.

you can ask your Provider if the Problem happens to you. They can say where the Bottleneck is ! And I don think it is Microsoft. maybe your Provider should route this traffic another way. Tell your Provider your Problems.

I am having trouble connecting as well, but my situation is a bit different. My cable Internet connection had been dropping 8 - 10 times a day. So we swapped out the cable modem, no more dropping, but now my 360 won't connect to the internet.

Specs:

Cisco / Linksys WRT120 Wireless N router

Cisco SPC 3010 Cable modem

Charter Internet - 15Meg package

The only thing changed was the cable modem.

Things tried: Everything on the Xbox 360 support help, reset router to factory defaults and reconfigured, Manual and automatic setting for both IP and DNS settings.

The 360 will connect to the network and all computers on the network, it will run the Xbox live test, connect to the network then fail when attempting to connect to the Internet.

I even had Charter come test the modem. They found spikes in the signal to the modem, and they fixed that, but no luck changing my no connect issue.

This just happened to me as well. I pay for 50mb down from Charter Cable (Southern California) and I'm using a Netgear WNDR 4300. It says I'm connected to the internet when I test the connection, but the full dashboard won't load.

I did just change the TV connection on my XBox to use an HDMI cable, rather than the HDTV composite cables. I wouldnt think this would affect connectivity, but I figured I would mention it since it started around the same time. When I go back to using
the composite cables, I still have the disconnect issues.

I only stated playing out of country is normally terrible for me. Your from a small country next to Europe and probably play out of country all the time, or more than not, or more than you think. Playing CoD with a terrible connection is horrendous and 99%
of the time Im connected out of country (to Mexico if out at all) its bad. Thats my experience, OK. You have your experience.
