I could go on with how long I've needed support for my Xbox One and have gotten absolutely nothing from Microsoft. They don't listen to their users at all, and that's what makes them such a shoddy company. Also, the fact that even
once you buy a game, you can't play it without also paying for a monthly subscribtion to xbox live gold is just a complete scam. They gloss it up likes its this bonus but they make you depend on it to actually play the game you bought. The system doesnt work
very well and most of the time doesnt even recognize disks, asking you to pay for them AGAIN just because the machine doesnt work. Worse yet, theyre targeting these at kids who dont know any better and cant even afford to play. Its absolutely deplorable, and
i hope this companys head cant sleep at night thinking about the exploitation hes running. And I bet noone at Microsoft will even read this message because, like I said before: they dont listen to their audience.

Console bans as we're always pointing out do not begin and end with modding your console or piracy.

First The only thing the monthly subscription is for is to play multiplayer games and party chat with your friends online to play campaign mode in games is totally free and does not require the monthly subscription.

There are some games that are multiplayer only that do require the subscription but those are few and far between.

Even PS has gone to a paying subscription to play multiplayer games and chat on their PS4 console.

As far as consoles not reading discs sometimes the laser lens gets off kilter when trying to read the disc and if you hold the disc for half a second while putting the disc into the console sometimes the laser will catch up with the disc and read it if that
does not work then yes you may have to get the console repaired.

I have had 2 different consoles an original xbox one and a xbox one S for over 2 years now and have never run into any problems with either one of them reading discs.

As far as the console not working very well think of the console like a computer it has system memory especially if you have the system set to instant on which allows the system to boot up to right were you left off this takes up a lot of memory and if it
gets full can run sluggish to clear up this memory every once in a while you may want to do a power cycle of the console.

1. Hold down the power button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds for it to shut off.

2. Unplug power supply for approximately one minute.

3. Plug back in and that should clear up a lot of system issues that you may have.

think of the instant on feature like putting a computer to sleep when you hit the power button it just boots you back up to were you where at previously.

There is also a setting where you can set it to energy saving with this everytime you tell the system to turn off it will fully turn off with this feature though it will take longer to boot up AND if your games need an update or the system needs an update
it will download and install the updates during the bootup process. With the instant on feature it will download and install ANY updates even if the console is off so that it wont have to check for them when booting up.

 

I wouldn't say that Xbox doesn't listen to their users at all. They have a
website dedicated to user input, where gamers can post their ideas, and if enough people agree with that idea, it gets included in a Xbox system update.

That's how the Xbox One became backwards compatible. Also they heard the gamers when they didn't like how the copy protection worked when Microsoft initially announced the Xbox One back in 2013. So it's not true that Xbox isn't listening to their fans.

As for being unable to play a game without paying for a monthly subscription:

You can ALWAYS play the single player portion of a game. ONLY if you want to play the online multiplayer part of the game you will have to pay for the Gold Membership, which not only allows you to play online multiplayer, but also gives you four games FOR
FREE every month.

As for the system not recognizing discs: With these two tricks I get the console to read my discs every time.

First eject the disc, then hold the power button for about 10 seconds and then restart the console.

While the console is rebooting and showing the green boot screen, do this second trick:

Take your disc to the kitchen, and apply a small drop of mild dishwasher soap on the silver side of the disc, and "massage" the soap around the disc with wet fingers.

When the silver side is completely covered in soap, rinse the disc under running water. Shake the disc a few times to get the water off, and wipe the remaining drops with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Return to your console with the disc, and insert the disc. It should now be able to read the disc properly.
