    Third party peripherals question


    I just have a quick question about Microsoft's relationship with manufacturers of third party hardware like controllers.

    I remember being at Gamestop a few years back getting a new 360 controller, and asked the guy at the counter why they only had wired controllers. He told me something along the lines of third party hardware developers not being "allowed" to use wireless.

    Is this true, and if so, do the same rules apply to the Xbox One controllers and the lack of wireless and headset ports on third party models.

    ^ I really don't want to have to buy extra third party peripheral devices... everything should be included in the console already baked into the OS

    The Xbox One needs BlueTooth

    Xbox One does not have bluetooth because it would then be far more open to third party peripherals, which would cost |Microsoft valuable licensing money.

    When will the 3rd party ban be coming? Been waiting a while and the xim and zen's are only getting worse

    there is no third-party peripheral bound, unlicensed third-party peripherals have always been banned from Xbox, and all that has happened is that a loophole/bug that they have been exploiting has been closed

    Those devices are best mitigated server side, as they ride a legitimate device ID they have to be identified by their behavior , which many games have been directly addressing like call of duty

    If you see someone using those devices, report them to Xbox as well as the game developer
