    Third-Party Hard Drives


    I am playing ESIII on XBOX 360. I heard that third-party drives will not allow XBOX games to be played on XBOX 360 consoles because of formatting differences. After doing more research I found information on Amazon that Microsoft has recently changed this
    and now does support third-party drives for this purpose. Is this true? Will Microsoft allow me to format a third-party drive so that I can play XBOX games on XBOX 360? This is time-sensitive so an immediate response would be appreciated - esp. factful, not

    Hello again, was the hard drive new or used ? Some people will trade in third party hard drives.

    Are they the official MS brand 250Gb hard drives or are they a third party hard drive?

    After more research I have encountered pc software that will format a third-party HD to allow XBOX legacy games to play on XBOX 360. Does use of this software negate XBOX licensing or go against policy? The Amazon quote I speak of above led me to believe
    Microsoft had recently produced their own formatting app for these hard drives (not the pc software from other producers). I do not want to violate any policy. Any help?

    In order to play original Xbox games on a 360, you have to have an official MS brand hard drive. There is no legit software you can use to make a hard drive compatible for playing original Xbox games so use of any other software would be a violation of the
    terms of service.

    Project Zero(Fatal Frame) Xbox Original is failed to start on xbox 360

    Is it possible that you have a third party hard drive in your console? Or is it the original hard drive that came with the console (if you bought the console used, it might be possible that the previous owner switched the hard drive for a third party model).

    If it's a cloned drive from a third party, it might be that the Xbox emulator is not correct on the drive. Or maybe your console was modified?

    Are you sure that your hard drive is an official Microsoft hard drive. If you bought it separately there is a chance that it is from a third party. If it is from a third party the games will not work properly.
