Thinking of buying an Xbox One but not sure

I have been thinking of buying an Xbox One second hand from CEX. I like the look of Sunset Overdrive & may want to give Ryse (not the best game by all accounts but looks ok to me) and Dead Rising 3 a go as well. However, I'm not sure if it's worth because
once I play these games I may not use it for a while. I have a PS4 as well & to be honest I'm not really playing that much at present. Non of the recent games have sparked a desire to play. Especially that that there seems to be a number of high profile software
that is just plain broken.

I like the idea of the new Dragon Age but have found it hard to stay engaged with the last few RPG's I have played. They were JRPG's so maybe that has something to do with it. Or, maybe it is my age catching up with me.

Just looking for some opinions. I have owned both Microsoft & Sony consoles for the last two generations. So it's not a fanboy thing.

Thinking of buying an Xbox One

If your thinking about buying an xbox one let me put it simply DONT. I was a die hard xbox fan had the 360 since the week it come out and when I heard about the xbox one I had to get it, and since I've had I've need nothing but disappointed with it. A
lot of the time it keeps randomly signing me out of xbox live, 500gb sounds like a lot of memory but you actually get about 300gb spare which isn't hard anything when you have to install the whole game to your XboxOne one and on the subject of installing I
spent £50 to buy dead rising 3 online and it's currently 7am here and I've been installing it since 4pm yesterday and it's on 9% and my internet connection is fine we used to run about 4-6 wireless devices at once but now with the xbox one one I can't even
use my iphone properly without it freezing on the Internet the xbox one is the biggest waste of money anyone could ever spend absolutely disgusted with it will be getting rid of it as soon as I can.

 

I recently got a PS4 and now have both consoles. I also don't really use them a lot but I like the fact I have both so when a game I want to play I can just get it.

There's some good games coming out for both consoles in 2015 and those 3 games you wanted for the Xbox One are all good games, so if you can afford it, go for it.

 

I own a xbox one and have all games and love it ill get a ps4 when games come for it that i like

 

Dragon Age is great, Far Cry 4 and Halo MCC would keep you busy for a while. EA Access is great too for $30 a year you get early access plus a 10% discount plus free games like BF4, and all the EA sports games.

 

Sunset Overdrive is an excellent game, same with DR3. I'm playing Dragon Age at the moment and it is My GOTY. It's really that good. JRPG have always bored me to death, so I'm never surprised to hear when people struggle to enjoy them.

DA is my choice for GOTY also. I've been doing everything I can before I beat it. I'm Lvl 22 warrior and have 105 hrs. I am a completionist ; /

 

The choice of games are finally getting appealing for Xbox One that's for sure.

Sunset was fun but felt a little short, I loved Ryse too, but again, felt a little short. Unless you're a completionist of course!

Halo MCC is finally becoming smoother too if you're a Halo fan and for the price you get so many hours of gameplay from single player alone. Not the mention that Halo 5 Beta starts very soon and from someone who has played the Preview Beta, it's going to
be a fun few weeks!

Forza is a terrific game too, I've never been into these genres before but I've build up some series hours there, don't think I've met one person who disliked it, whether they've played them before or not.

Oh and you can ask your Xbox to feed you with "Domino's, feed me". How can you not want that?

 

I just started Dragon Age last night. I already know it's 100+hr game lol. Sunset Overdrive was my GOTY simply because of the mindless fun and the dialogue. I think it's a great time to get an X1. The price is good and the games are plentiful.

The X1 one has some brilliant games, if money isn't a problem, then buy one!!!

 

If you have the money and like the games on the system then go for it. X1 has a lot to offer already and by the sounds 2015 onwards is only going to get better.

I was a dual console owner the last gen and this gen and Xbox (for me personally) has always offered the more compelling lineup. In saying that I am a huge Uncharted, God of War and The Last of Us fan but give me Gears over any of those any day of the week!!
Having access to all exclusives on both systems is the way to go though!

Sunset Overdrive is brilliant. Had a blast playing through it and is definitely in my top 3 games of the year. My #1 is Forza Horizon 2 as I'm a car guy and this game captures so much about car culture and nails it.

Ryse was highly underrated and is worth a go, especially now you can get it cheap. Same goes for DR3 in fact.

Depending on what games you like, if you are into shooters then get Titanfall and if you don't have it on PS4, Garden Warfare is also lots of fun. Halo: MCC is awesome value as well.

 

Was not a big fan of Sunset Overdrive. I thought it was just mediocre. I mostly play third party games like GTA 5 and Dragon Age. Multiplatform games are superior on the PS4, but I like HALO and I think X1 is worth getting for HALO 5. BUT if you're just
going to play multiplatform games, stick with a PS4.

 

I guess it also depends if you are a social gamer or not. Easy to say just buy multiplatform games on PS4 but if you have more friends on Live then wouldn't it also come into the equation? Of course it goes both ways and you may have more friends on PSN.
Just comes down to what matters more to you and what side of the fence will fit better.
