Thinking about buying a used Xbox 360 from Ebay

A while back my current 360 S stopped reading discs. I was going to get it repaired for the $80 price but I figured I could buy a used or refurbished 360 from ebay for the same price. Of course some wont come with a power brick or any connections, but that's
perfectly find with me. I just want a console that plays discs again. I will use my old 360 as a streaming device for Netflix or something.

Anyways, I was wondering if I should ask sellers any questions first?

I would be worth the purchase. There will be continued support for the xbox 360 and xbox live marketplace, since they will not be moving to the xboxone.

 

You need to be worried about buying banned consoles. You can ask, but no telling if they'd admit it was banned before you buy it.

 

Yeah that's the big worry I have, but I figure I'll do a lot of research before buying. Read seller reviews, and even ask the user if the console is safe to use. The console I am looking at only come with the console itself. Then again, Wal-Mart is selling
a 360 for $99 on Black Friday, so I may do that.

It is always best to ask all the obvious questions such as it being banned,faulty or missing items.

Then if there is any problems you can use the messages he sent you as evidence in any paypal case that follows.

Do not pay by any other means than paypal as you will not be covered if you have problems.

The only problem you will have if you win a case and get your money back, you will have to pay any post costs to return the item to the seller, which could be expensive.

 

If you're going to go through with it, I would highly advise you go through the seller's feedback. Make sure he has good feedback and it isn't just like 5 reviews.

 

Like for instance, I've had my ebay acct for 10 years and have a 100% feedback. People like me can be trusted, but if the person has a newer account and anything lower than 98% I would avoid it.

 

I personally just wouldn't do it, unless it was a brand new, unopened console.

I'm not sure if you have any of the second hand electronics stores around, but you could probably pick one up around the same price there and sometimes they'll even give you like a month warranty in case it breaks.

 

You can easily get an Brand new Slim Console for £90,00.

 

£90 is a little more than $80, $140.83 to be exact at todays exchange rate. And not seen a new S anywhere since the E was launched.

As mentioned already, always ask if the console is banned and use Paypal if buying off Ebay.

 

Yeah I might wait until Black Friday or see what Cyber Monday offers in sales. The whole banned console thing worries me big time, so I might wait it out a bit longer and just get a new 360 at some point.

And yeah, I would only plan to purchase a console from a really big time trusted seller. I never buy from new sellers, especially on ebay. Unless it's some small item.
