Things in the new update

Users are already reporting that the update is rolling out, although it doesn't seem to have come through to our own system as yet.

Those who do have the update report that:

- You can update your controller through USB

- You now have an option under Kinect that says ” Turn hand cursor off while watching video

- Tutorials about gestures and voice commands are in the settings menu

- The is a new 'show all other notifications' option under Notifications

- Optical and HDMI audio settings have an option for “Bitstream Out” option between DTS Digital Surround and Dolby Digital

- Friends App is much improved. Can see online friends first, recent players and a Favorites option.

- 'Xbox Broadcast' now works as an option, although streaming in not yet live.
- Twitch is integrated with the dashboard, therefore from the home screen it says how many friends are broadcasting; In addition it alternates between how many friends and favourites are online.

- Another feature of this update is that you can disable hand gestures while watching videos.


So what do you think of the latest update? It hardly sounds anything groundbreaking, in fact it mostly sounds like things that should have been there in the first place. But still, the new options are nice to have, don't you think?

Oh man, something tells me they did not update the system for a demo, but then again....

So far the only thing new I saw is Naruto demo. Anything else pm me.

 

Also the ability to raise or lower the amount of Xbox Volume up....Xbox volume down to more increments then before... max of 10 I heard...

 

Disabling hand gestures would be real nice. It pops up constantly while watching tv. Can we also fix the black screen issue it's very annoying doing a hard reboot several times a day.

I actually got the update this morning. Due to my work schedule, I won't get to check it out totally until later today. The things I noticed were actually nice though.

 

Is there an NDA to go along with the update?

 

I think so tohelinbak that's why ms choose the ppl and messiah that caught my eye aswell I haven't had anything yet so doubt I'll get the update

 

Not that I've seen. It's a preview, not a Beta.

 

Make no mistake this is a beta. Read the documents that you're accepting when signing up and you'll be made aware of the risk that goes along with testing a update.

I've used beta GPU drivers on the PC, opt'd in to the Steam client beta program and from time to time things don't work as planned and it can break things, severely in some cases. In those cases I could roll them back not sure if that's an option with this
update.

There doesn't appear to be any huge issues with this update but your opt'ing in for future betas so just be aware that when you click "I accept" that you're acknowledging the fact that these updates could cause issues with your console.

 

The hand gestures fix is a much appreciated one. I don't think they thought of people sitting in recliners because the kinect picked up my feet like they were hands...

 

Does any one know what updating the controller does for it? I updated it but I have not noticed anything yet.

 

I have the update and it is a welcome addition of things that should have been there from the start, however I can't seem to find out how to change the increments of the volume up or down voice command. I read that the new update allows you to change this
but have not been able to find it. Has anyone found out how to do this?

 

BLAZERYAN go to settings, tv and one guide, troubleshooting, audio, its the bottom option were you can adjust how much the volume goes up or down by hope this helps
