Thief

Hello iv never played a game like thief before and I just watched a video on it I ain't a big fan of the first person view but I kinda like the sound of this game seeing as I completed splinter cell all but one mission doing it as ghost so I stayed undetected
but I'm wondering do u only have to kill humans in thief because in the video they stated u kill someone's men or a much deadlier enemy

Thief has been a long time favourite of mine. It's all about how you play, it's upto you but it's more graded to stealth than the recent Splinter Cell game (Blacklist).

There's no mythical monsters or anything like that though, if that's what you mean by "Only have to kill humans"

The objectives range from stealing items to killing people usually.

 

Humans but there will be mystical elements that maybe will be hard to kill or evade .

 

Yh because in the video they showed what looked like a dark dusty/foggy sewer I love stealth games but I don't like stealth games that involve non human enemy's if that makes sence

This is what put me off from each Thief game in the past. I loved them until they went all supernatural on me..



Although they did sorta say that some stuff like this has been removed based on fan feedback, but yea those sewers looked like it had some kind of zombies in there or somethig

 

Garrett has a moral aversion to killing, so it will be discouraged in this game.

Well, that just in the lore, really.. Although I didn't notice if Garrett now has a dagger/sword like he did in earlier games? But his bow is still lethal. You have all the same options to kill the people as in Splinter Cell. I personally went with the ideology
that I try to be as non-lethal as possible, but I won't like.. load a saved game if I have to kill someone and just go with the flow and not worry even if I had to kill someone, even if I wanted to avoid it.

 

I think in thief u can go ghosts and not b detected but u can kill coz in the video he breaks a guys neck. Also I paused the video at the end and the ppl in the sewers looks uh men and bald but with no clothes on so no idea I'll get it if it is only killing
humans

 

If the Ghost Option can be played without having to repeatedly re-load checkpoints so that you know where each and every guard will be in advance then it should be a fun goal to aim for.



If the gameplay is entertaining to survive the 'novelty of doing something different' phase and remain fun then it should be a really good game.



I like that you can break into any house you want rather than be restricted to set piece heists.

Interesting. I know they're just pixels, but I enjoy FPSs (or even 3rd person) where the enemy is clearly and non-ambiguously a menace. I don't like killing or wreaking havoc on the innocent or those that don't have it coming to them. Which is why I don't
play GTA, Saints Row etc...

 

how about theif on my newly acquired zotac gtx 780 pc build....ya that seems the better choice plus i can wait for a steam sale, this just seems to be a different skinned assassins creed with stealing instead of assassinating. Sorry for the gtx 780
graphics bragging...i had to tell someone lol, just picked it up this morning and it cost almost as much as the Xbox One itself at $480 :O but its going to be aweeesome.

 

Assassins creed (which I am a big fan of) is actually a clone of Theif, if you have played the previous games. I have personally been waiting for this game for a LONG, LONG time, ever since Looking Glass went pop I can't wait to get back into Garrets

Assassin's Creed and Thief have about as much common as.. WoW and EVE Online. Both are some sort of MMORPG-like games, but that's about it. Assassin's Creed isn't about stealing stuff most of the stuff, but -as the name implies - assassination. Thief is
all about - as the name implies - stealing things and killing is very much discouraged. Assassin's Creed isn't a stealth game, whereas Thief is all about stealth. Assassin's Creed's stealth aspect is only really limited to the "hiding in plain sight"-concept
(blending in etc) and then jumping into hay stacks. It already tells something that there's like no night time in the entire franchise, whereas Thief has no day time

They really share nothing more except both main characters have a shady profession. Thief is even a first person game for the most parts (although in Deadly Shadows you could go into 3rd person)
