Thief crashes

I bought the thief digital download and played through the prologue. when I get to the clocktower and I am given a prompt to start chapter 1. I start chapter 1 and the game begins to load. It usually loads about halfway before the game just shuts off and
i'm returned to the home menu. I've already tried reinstalling the game and that didn't seems to work. I've tried other solutions from around the web but nothing seems to work. can someone please help?

I'm playing a little bit of everything. Blops DA Thief Gears Battlefront.. which I have like an hour left lol. Gears plays so smooth and Thief is pretty solid. PvZ 2 is enjoyable too but had it crash twice tonight. I should really stick to one game but I
can't help myself haha.

 

Thief crashes even after repair.

It wouldn't be the power brick if it's just one game, unless the game is requesting the APU to run at a very high clock rate and the brick can't supply that wattage. I don't think games have that kind of control on the APU, so I suspect you have a corrupted
game install... Somehow. Or the game is leaking memory, but then more people than just you would be having the same issue. I see you've already tried redownloading the game; my next suggestion would be to, if you have the equipment to do so,
[Mod Removed - Please don't post up self repair steps] Of course, that voids your warranty, so I'm not *telling* you to do that... I'm just telling you what I would consider doing, worst-case scenario.-

Failing that, see if you can "trick" your Xbox One into moving the game further on the hard drive. Uninstall Thief, install some free apps or different games in the freed up space, and reinstall Thief. If you notice whatever you installed in that freed up
space is crashing but Thief isn't, you have a hard drive problem.

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you've been experiencing with the game: Thief. If you haven't already, I suggest try giving these troubleshooting steps a shot:

1. Power cycle your Xbox One console.
   
2. Once the console is off completely, unplug your power supply from the wall and from your console.
   
3. Leave everything unplugged for a few minutes.
4. Plug your console back in and turn it on.
5. Try playing the game again.

If these steps don't do the trick, please post back and let us know!

 

Power cycling didn't work, but thanks for replying. I've tried reinstalling the game about three times now. any other suggestions?

 

Hey, killerduoz! Thanks so much for the quick reply. I know you've uninstalled the game several times, but I'd like you to try it in this order:

• Uninstall the game
• Hold the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts off
• Leave it off for about 30 seconds
• Boot the console back up
• Reinstall the game

Please post back your results. We'll continue from there.
