Thief - Anyone ordered?

Evening all, just noticed my copy of Thief has been sent out today, anyone else order this?

Not really knowing what to expect so some information might be cool

Does anyone know if Thief. due out next week, has a Southpaw option?

 

I get kicked back to dashboard when playing thief

I keep getting kicked back to the dashboard when playing thief can anyone help me

 

Hopefully be here by Thursday alng with plants vs zombie, not really knowing what to expect

 

just about to order it, read some pretty mixed reviews last night but im a sucker for a bit of stealth! Main review problems were totally dire story and some dodgy NPC issues, a few bugs (PC version review) but overall the environments and stealth factor
make up for the shortcomings!

 

The developers have quite a task before them.

How do you sell Thief to a generation that has the Patience of a Goldfish?

Present company included (speaking from an entire Forums perspective, not aimed at you guys above).

Many couldn't figure out the "turn party chat on" feature and wrote it off as broken.

People don't have the patience to play through the games you don't need extra patience for.

How are they going to manage a game where you're supposed to take your time?

I've got one ordered though and I've been charged for it so it may show up before Friday, you never know.

 

I'm going to pick it up at some point but cancelled my pre-order for now.

I know most reviews say there's a few bugs that are not game breakers but I did see one mention he got 3 hours in, hit some sort of bug where he couldn't progress and had to start from the beginning and this was on the console version.

So just going to hold off a week or so to see what the feedback is.

 

I believe your given the choice of playing with or without stealth like the system used in Duex Ex - Human Revolution which I enjoyed as I'm a totally lousy shot.

Think I will trade in my original games (COD, Ryse and BF4) and buy Thief once I see what you guys think of it.

 

^ You wont get far if you try it without stealth, its the point of the game, apparently the AI is nails hard if if spots you and if they are a group you are pretty much toast.

 

I think its been given a bad release date that's all, you have plants v zombies modern warfare and titanfall in around 2 weeks time which I have ordered them both if I had the money I would get that as well but at the moment I am happy to get them two and
wait for the price to come down on thief it looks stunning.

 

ive been in party with 5 plus US m8s all playing theif basically since tuesday on and off,once my friend had 1 issue with the A.I.

All over twitch across PC/the other console and XB1 there has been very little of these reports of bugs,im sure IGN spread hate campaines against games 6.5..the places i look for reviews its all 7.5 to 8.5.

If ya a run and gun,kill all with no mercy gamer then a defo dont think thief is for you,in really excited about it tbh,i love the stealth take ya time explore evrythingn and everywhere gameplay as well as the previous.

There are a fair few cgi cut scenes to,which aint everybodys cup of tea,but hey thats all game immersion for me,,defo 1 for in the dark with quality gaming headset.

2morrow 10am onwards il be playing if anyone wants to jump in party to enjoy it with me.

 

Cant see the point in being in a talkative party with a stealth game, totally breaks the immersion

 

I was going to get this but I decided to go for PvZ instead as that looks like something I would enjoy more.

I used to have to hide myself Offline to play "Oblivion" to stop people nagging me to play other stuff or worse yet... wanting to hang out and have a chat while I'm trying to play my game?!?!?.

Still you can understand people wanting to get an impression of what the game is like though.

 

Its why I actually like the fact that you dont get "joe bloggs is online" pop ups with the One. When I jump on the 360 now I really notice how much they break my game immersion and enjoyment. Much better without, if i want to see who's about I command
my One to go look using the miracle of voice. ;-)
