they changed my gamertag

tried to go online today and it said i needed to re download profile

once this was done it had changed my name with no reason.

asked xbox for help and they told me to come here and get a mod to check my account

please could a moderator do this for me and get back in touch before xbox call me back

My gamertag was changed!

Apparently my gamertag has been changed due to the fact that it said it violated the terms, but when I made the gamertag about a year ago it wasn't a problem and now you want me to pay for a new one? That's crazy! I should not have to pay for a new gt if
it was fine a year ago I have had nothing but problems with xbox since I got it and the xbox support doesn't seem to help either.

The rules has always been the same.

It just took that long for someone to report it

Unlike xbox if psn find your name offences someone they ban your account so Nk keep it clean it's not rocket science

oh the email would be on the xboxlive account email service (outlook.com, google.com, mail.yahoo.com, etc.)

 

Same thing happened to me they changed my gamertag and i had to download my profile again now i have to pay 10 dollars for a new one.

 

I have to say I really like the way the PET is choosing names for gamertag offenders now, is very amuse.

 

i have found my email in my junk section. i have had my gamertag for 10 years. why say its unsuitable now

 

Um mm usually because people find a way around the word filters with misspellings etc

It does not matter if you had it for 10 years the fact is no one reported it sooner

Xbl team doesn't always watch the gamertags only when they are reported or they run across them

It remains that it violated the code of conduct

Live life and play fair it is that simple please read the terms of use You should consider it carefully

Multiple forced name changes will only lead to a perm ban on the account

 

this gamertag g0ldenb0lux was chosen by microsoft over the telephone 10 years ago with myself this was agreed at the time to be suitable as due to there servers being hacked my old name goldenbolux was unavailable. it has not been reported as my son is the
only person who uses it and plays only his mates on fifa or minecraft. its honestly no wonder why most adults chose playstation. where has all the individuality in life gone if you cannot choose a tag that is anything but 2 stupid words and a number !!!

this is nothing but a money making scheme !! if this was not the case they would allow a gamertag change in instances such as this

had a telephone call today from microsoft to try to come to a solution and even the manager today did not understand why this has happened and said the system was floored as no one apart from that team could identify why and they could not be contacted

 

If you want an official reason as to why it was changed, you'll need to post in the form Ritzy linked you to.

That is the only place to find out exactly why it was changed. The enforcement team are the only ones who handle forced name changes. Even though phone support may have helped you change your name a while ago, they do not handle things like code of conduct
violations directly so they may not have realized that something in the name may have violated the code. Sometimes they will email a response instead of posting in that forum too.

As already been said, it doesn't matter how long you've had the gamertag. It only takes one complaint for the enforcement team to investigate your account and if they believe the gamertag violates the code then they will issue a forced name change. This
is not something phone support has any control over.

 

I dont think you seem to understand !!! if microsoft took your money and set up a name for you personally that everyone agreed on then deemed it innappropriate would u then pay again for a name change. i honestly dont think you would
