These Spam messages/account are getting ridiculous now

Got a 4th spam message from the 4th spam account to head to a daily raffle site to try to win a XB1 by entering your email.

This phishing is getting ridiculous now. Someone needs to change the way one creates a gamertag so these bots stop spamming people.

And yes, I've already filed a "text message" complaint on the accounts that have spammed thus far...

Spam over XBL Messages

Do people rally have no lives that they create a bunch of free accounts for the sole purpose of spam? Man they are a waste of humanity. Getting tired of these spam messages. I have reported and blocked...but I keep getting them because they are new free
accounts. Thank God I read that Microsoft is working on this.

 

Xbox One March update

i stopped getting the spam messages for pizza, i kind of miss them now

but the party chat improvements are nice.

 

Enforcement will launch the banhammer on them and in the future the creation of accounts will be made more difficult probably

Please don't post Gamertags as this is seen as "naming and shaming" which is against the forum rules

You could change you privacy settings 'Voice and Text' to friends only, then only people on your friends list will be able to send you messages, or just report and block the messages.

 

The above mentioned option sounds like the most viable solution, at least for the time being until Xbox gets a handle on this nonsense.

Make sure to report and block communication with every gamertag you've received messages from.

 

I've considered that but alas, It shouldn't have to come to that.

 

I'm also getting quite a few of these. All we can do at the moment is report and block the offenders. If the Xbox Enforcement team hasn't noticed these accounts by now (which I'm sure they have, and I'm sure they're working on getting rid of them), sending
enough reports will certainly get their attention.

 

You're right, Ragnarok BOB. We shouldn't have to adjust our preferred settings simply to guard ourselves from spam and scam messages. Unfortunately it looks like that's what it's come down to, at least for the time being I guess.

The amount of members receiving these messages is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention how many they've repeatedly received. There needs to be some sort of filter in place for newly created accounts.

 

I have changed my privacy settings to friends only and I'm still getting spammed on xbox. I've checked to see if any of the spammers are on my friends' friends list and they aren't. I've checked the spammers profiles and they don't even have GS. Now how
in the world is this happening?

 

Well, for the first time I got a XBL message thanking and acknowledging my reports and it seemed all fine and dandy as if it stopped.... until I got another one but this time it's for a PS4 spam site.

So something did change whether the XB1 spam site was shut down (for whatever reason) or the enforcement team rectified an issue.

That said, I really wish you were able to report messages on xbox.com (web browser) or Smart Glass and not forced to sign into your 360 or XB1.
