    Hi so i found the fix for this error you get when trying to configure your elite controller through the accessories app.

    All you need to do is install xbox identity provider on your pc link below:

    Installed, restarted Xbox Accessories and everything works just like it once used to, with all of my previously created and saved profiles still there. No other Xbox apps installed on my PC, this was all that was needed. There's a problem with our connection to the controller 0x800708CA (FIX) :)
    Finally a working solution, thanks!

    Edit: Actually created the account just to say thanks and let others with the same problem know that it does work (for me, at least). I'll probably hang around though.

    Dear \(^ω^\), did you even read the post? you are off topic to the point of being rude. id even go as far to say that your response was insulting.

    PAY ATTENTION

    THE ISSUE : we* are unable to "CONFIGURE**" the controls of the Xbox Elite controller 2, using the XBOX accessories APP in Windows 10.

    Even though the controller IS connected and working properly, even if the controller is physically wired to the system, when we try to configure the controller surfaces,
    an error window pops up saying,

    There is a problem with our connection to the controller

    disconnect, error 0X800708CA

    The controller does work, the controller IS connected to the machine. unfortunately we are unable to use the services that the extra surfaces on the controller provide. which is the reason for having purchased such an expensive
    object in the first place.


    IF YOU HAVE A CANNED RESPONSE TO THIS, I DO not WANT TO HEAR OR SEE IT, JUST DO YOUR JOB!!

    *(when i say "WE" i mean all elite controller users)

    **TO CONFIGURE (AS IN, the ability to program certain buttons or paddles
    on the controller to do something other than the original purpose )

    Yes the first thing I see when I open up Xbox accessories is a loading circle and the the error code pops up “0x800708CA”. And I have not plugged my controller to my pc as currently it’s getting maintenance.

    After the Feb 2015 update many of my friends & myself started having the same issue where our controller can not reconnect to the xbox one after changing batteries, connecting the USB cable, walking more than 30ft from the xbox one, or sometimes it just

    on our xbox one after we updated in February 2015. It has been weeks now & I dont even know if xbox is working on a fix or cares to fix the problem. Just wondering if anyone out there is having the same issue. It cant be local cause my friends & I live in
    4 different states. None of us had the older issues that the Feb update was meant to fix. But after the February controller update almost all of us have the problem. Just like how we had no xbox one Connect issues till a update that was suppose to fix problems
    some had. After that update, again almost all of us had problems with our Connects.
