Connecting Headphones to the Xbox 1

Hi there and thank you for responding. There is no audio coming from the headset when i plug it into my controller, we think it might be some setting on the xbox but we are not to sure how to fix it. In the top right hand corner of the home screen there
is a mic symbol with a cross through it, we think that might be the problem.

    Thank you

    No sound

I am not using a headset or microphone. The mic icon I mention is on the top right of the screen and meant to represent a speaker - mine is crossed out as I have no sound.

    No sound

Did not work. I backed up my preferences first and asked it to keep my games and apps. Will it make a difference if I reset it without letting it keep my preferences? Is there any way of accessing volume or mute on the xbox itself? The mic icon in
the top right corner is crossed out. This is clearly a software issue and it seems that others have had this problem before but I cannot find any solutions online,

    600 rainbow six credits

    Hey Simdus -

When you're at the main menu for Rainbow Six Siege, what values do you see at the top right of your screen? There should be two icons: One for your Renown and one for your Credits. You should have 600 in the credits side.

    Let us know. :)

Xbox controller headphone jack stopped working

    Thanks Brad,

I was going over the list you have provided. My headset is working perfectly on my phone and ipad so it's not the issue. I couldn't find some of the menu items mentioned like the 'Mic on' and 'Adjust volume'. Then I've realized the mic sign on the right
top corner of the screen where the time and the battery was shown is crossed over. I've tried a simple headphone without a mic built in, and the icon switched to a headset and I could access the menu items I've mentioned not there before, like the volume and
adjust volume. So looks like either the jack is malfunctioning (which is very unlikely as both my controller got the same issue at the same time) or there is some software issue.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Harun

Problem of loud sound for my friends

Hello! is your mic turned on at all times? there is an issue that can be solved by setting your MIC as default, you can do the following by right clicking in the speaker icon on the right side of the taskbar, on the advance settings set it as default :)
