Thank you for reaching out to Xbox forums support. have you already tried completely resetting your console and going with the option to 'delete everything'? If you haven't already done so, go ahead and try performing a Soft console Factory
reset on your console by doing the following:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select System.
5. Select Console info & updates.
6. Select Reset console. [Delete Everything]

Make sure you have both your email and password on hand as you will be asked to sign back in. There is an option to delete everything go with that option. This will reset the Operating system [OS] of
the console and allow you a fresh start-up. Once your console is back up and running, try reinstalling the game. Hope this helps! Let us know!

It could also possibly be the save game but that rules out that it is a connectivity issue which helps a lot. Corrupted profiles are a lot more common then corrupted saved games. A profile is going to have stuff read off of it and things added to it constantly.
If the hard drive is starting to fail then it will have errors while trying to update the profile which will make it corrupted. Hard Drives naturally fail for any devices not just xbox. They are spinning a disk while reading and writing data to that disc so
it is kind of part of the territory. Are you using a 360 slim or one of the legacy 360 (Elite, Arcade, ETC. )?

Check storage for any corrupted files which are displayed in the colour yellow. Try cleaning cache. Try installing disk to hard drive by pressing x before starting the game. If it installs 100% the disk isnt the problem the console is if the installation
fails the discs faulty. Hope I helped.

Thank for coming to the forums. We recommend to make sure you are both on the same version. Also if you keep getting stuck on the screen, try uninstall and reinstall the game. Sometimes a game will install but be corrupt.

I don't think the game is the cause of your mistake. In any case, try to stop the game installation. Uninstall it. Fix corrupt system files if there are any. Then try installing Gears 5 again
