Thank you Dark Willow 619 for answering your own question so brilliantly.

The only people who care will be those who can't afford an XBox ONE because they backed the wrong platform.

Their only recourse will be to create zero gamerscore IDs to vent their impotent nerd rage over how great the XBox experience is getting by trying to pretend "Windows 10" will have some sort of detrimental affect on enjoying the great games that XBox has
to offer.

I wonder if any Xbox Gamer has ever felt so threatened as to go a trolling on the Playstation or Nintendo forums?

Consoles come and go...it is the games I love. MS is going the profit route, they aren't hurting the brand, Mattrick did that already at the xbox one reveal. It is looking like consoles are going the way of cell phones...2-3 year cycle. Thin profit margins
on hardware will force them to keep the software side robust. They can experiment here and there with hardware accessories and the like...some might do well (elite controller) some may not. They can concentrate on successes and pivot quickly when something
fails or draws little interest. And yes, if enough people are upset or bored or move to the pc only option, then MS will be forced to adapt the gold program...it is the basic law of business (supply and demand vs profit loss/gain)

Hum.....Microsoft makes money with one software : Windows.

If Xbox exclusives were consoles sellers there will be over 40 million Xbox one sold.

Bringing Xbox exclusives on PC won't make any differences.

It won't bring much more new PC gamers to play these "exclusives".

PC and console gamers,can saves some money by not buying Xbox console anymore.

And console gamers can still buy and play on consoles.

It's a draw.(at best)

Really don't see where or how Microsoft can win something

But at least,they didn't spent ressources to create new IP's for the PC communiy.Bringing Xbox exclusives on PC was the cheapest way.

Doesn't matter either way. There are still a lot of console exclusives coming. Crackdown 3, Scalebound, Gears 4, Halo Wars 2. Cup Head etc etc.

These are "console" exclusives. A PC is not a console.

Microsoft originally said that every title that they publish, includinig those you list, would be coming to the PC as well.

They've now changed their mind and scaled back to 'only those we showed at E3.'

It's not an exclusive if it is available on more than one platform, even if the same company owns them both.

Microsoft were smart to back track because otherwise if people looked at both consoles, wouldn't they pick the one with the games you couldn't get on a platform they likely already own.

Exclusives sell consoles. Microsoft realised that and backslid. That's a good thing.

if their plan is to unify the platforms, then this is a terrible thing, it is more likely that they're betting on gamers to buy 1 game and playing it on 1 platform, and only having a very small amount of gamers that would actually play 1 game on both platforms,
but in unifying the platforms they open up to the huge PC gaming market, they most likely have projections on how many console sales they'd lose versus how many game sales they'd gain, and i bet that software gain out weights the hardware loss by a lot.

and not to forget that they just backpedaled again, it only hurts the Xbox brand when they do that, like the wording on the release of Rising of the Tomb Raider, it just makes it look like they're trying to deceive people.

Fact is, Dark Willow, MS wants Xbox exclusives. Xbox as in a platform. Gears 4, for example, is an Xbox exclusive. Not Xbox console but exclusive to the platform. And it plays to MS advantage to make this work like this. They will get the sales and
push Xbox on PC. And that is a good thing. People can game on PC (Via Xbox) as well as use the console. It becomes a "family" type device setup. Take me for example. I really would have no need for a console. Except that it would be much easier to take
a console with me certain times than other. Plus, a console in some rooms is better than moving around PCs.

Another benefit could be the console game sharing. Since I can share on console I can get 1 copy and my wife and I can play. IF they keep game sharing on consoles working while I use the game on PC then I could play on PC while my wife is on the console.
So the benefits of this Xbox "platform" becomes evident.

Truthfully, you could argue (I have) that this removed the need for the console. No exclusives so why buy. Well, no matter how easy PC gaming is now. Or the fact that a cheaper PC CAN get console settings in games. Or the fact that PC hardware, especially
4k capable gpus, are getting cheap enough for a $500-$600 build. Most people would have to pay more because they really do not build them and secondary markets are higher $$ for the builds. Plus, PC will always be a little more involved no matter how easy.
So there is a sizable market for the console simplicity.

On top of the market for consoles you have plenty of people like myself. I want a console to go along with my PC. I will love the fact that when I take my games with me I can just load the console and forget my PC. Plus, I can get my saves on either.
I just hope that MS can get EA, Ubi, etc. on board with this for the Xbox platform.

As for paying for Live I will. I can find it for $30-$40 every year if I do not earn if for free from Bing rewards. Plus, the GwG and DwG more than cover that. And I am sure they will have features that make it worth it. They could make MP gaming only
free and it would still be worth the few $$ a month just for the games. Not to mention they could make some features paid gold only and be fine.

i still don't understand why people get their underwear in a bunch over things like this, i was a PC gamer for a short time but always preferred console gaming and ended up coming back to it, this doesn't affect me in any way a long with many other gamers.

and from MS stand point, it's money on the ground, PC gamers out number console gamers many times over, they've tried and failed in the past but with Phil Spencer at the helm i bet they'll make it this time.

i believe this is the end for traditional consoles, i think Project Scorpio will be more like a Steam Box, and after that MS will just release a Xbox OS so people will build their own consoles if they want, or just buy a MS branded one.
