there was a problem, and we couldn't continue (0x80a40008)

so last night i got an email saying your gamertag is inappropriate and has been changed i try and sign on and this keeps popping up i even deleted my profile and tried to recover it but no luck please help

done everything to xboxone router etc an tech support gave me a 4 day waiting time. any ideas on what it could be. all it says when I try to sign in is try again later there was a problem and we couldn't continue(0x80a40008)

That's the only thing that appears when you try to download the profile. From page but I can Login but on my xbox no . Please help me?

 

I have the same problem. Totally ***. Locked out of using my account.

 

What a headache. this error code would not let me sign in to my account. it would let me select my account but would not proceed to sign me in. So i removed my account from my xbox one so i could try and redownload it. it let me type my email and my password
then hit enter and thats when i received the error code 0x80a40008 try again later. so now i cant enter my account onto the xbox. it gets even worse. so now im banging my head against the wall and pass out. i wake up to try again, i go to enter my email to
download my account and it says you must have an internet connection to download your account, go to network settings to test your connection. well guess what! everything is connected, nat type open and running. the network details know im connected but when
i try to enter my email the xbox is telling me something else. long story short i unplugged the power adapter from the xbox one for a couple minutes then plug everything back in. its started an 1.1G update (FYI i had my auto download update turned off-that
should not matter but whatever) i was able to recover everything, i tunred my auto update download back on and im back up and running. can some one point me in the direction for the xbox one update preview forum section.

 

If any body body try's this and it works for them let me know. Even if it does not work let me know. Thanks.

 

Why is it I spend $500 on a console. Play it for every bit of 4 months, going through numerous problems with the connect already mind you. I recently, as I do routinely, updated my subscription to XBOXLIVE to pay to be able to chat with my friends and play
online but then the next day the *** started. Yes, nothing short of ***. I notice the kinect didn't sign me on, go figure it's a worthless *** up of a device anyways. Then I go to sign in manually, (Try again later) There was a problem, and we couldn't continue.
(0x80a40008) <----------------- What in the ***. All I wanted to do was watch the last episode of Dexter on Netflix. So I removed my profile and tried again. Oh look at this now it won't even work. I can't even download my friggin profile. Wow. So I'm paying
month to month, so that I can get *** in the *** financially 1970's style by you Microsoft. Congratulations you even change my more then appropriate gamertag to some baby back *** like FlailingFawn21234123 WTF. So yeah this is the last *** straw with your
*** service and even more *** consoles. FIX IT.

whats weird is my gamertag was not changed until I called tech support about my account not getting online an that same error message.

 

Seriously, how do I fix this? Will calling support help? Probably not. I've spent nearly $1000 dollars on this thing when you include game prices and I can't use it because my name was inappropriate. This is theft. I'm locked out of my account because of
my name. Thanks, Microsoft.

 

I went to the notification and cleared it and it let me back on
