There seems to be something wrong with my power-brick

    Hi,

It just happened a few minutes ago as I am posting my issue now! My Xbox One turned itself off, I was shocked when that happened. After my housekeeper gone, I tried to turn it on as usual, and that X mark on the console won't light up. I checked my power-brick,
there is no any color lightning on the led. I unplugged it off the console for 30 secsonds and plugged it back, still not working! When I was about to give up and maybe doing some scheduling for it to get fixed, something reminded me that I have a back-up
power-brick, which I bought it before my Xbox One shipped to my house. So I tried out with that back-up power-brick, and could see that orange led flashing. I guessed it's not my console problem after all. So I deicde to give the power-brick, which came with
my console when I received it, another try. Now it finally works!!!!

However, I am afraid that this kind of incident might happen. Does anyone know why that happened? That my power-brick temporarily not able to work when plugged in?

I usually play my Xbox One for many hours without turning it off, sometimes 24 hours! Can this be the problem why my power-brick did not work at that time?

    Thanks!!!!

    :)

  3. Need a power supply brick for slim!

I have 3 that are not in use.But are you even sure the power brick is the issue? Maybe something else is wrong with your console that has nothing to do with tthe power brick.

Your power supply should be a solid white or orange light, if it is flashing it is either not plugged into the console or it as a problem which means it needs replacing, also don't use power strips.

  5. As long as it is well ventilated you should not have any problems.

  6. Sounds like the built in surge protector tripped in the power brick, to fix this you need to unplug from the console, separate the removable piece from the power brick and leave it that way for about 10 seconds. Put the pieces back together then plug into
the console, and finally into the wall outlet bypassing any surge protectors. Try to power on if it works then you just simply needed to reset the internal surge protector. If not It is likely what you suspected a Bad PSU.

  7. As to why this could have happened, power surges, using an additional surge protector(remember the psu has an internal surge protector) It could also be that when you house keeper was cleaning up that particular room, or an adjacent room on the same circuit
Her/his Vacuum cleaner caused an overload to the homes circuit. That would cause your power supplies internal surge protector to trip protecting the console from harm.

    Hi,

Actually, I am using power stripes. I guess that could be one of the reasons why my power-brick went wrong! In addition, do you think that me playing this console for almost a day without turning it off might case some problem to surge protector?

    Thank you both for explanations!

  9. These consoles were designed to stay on all the time, I usually run mine most of the day and never run into issues such as yours. I think you are okay to keep it on as much as you want. The power strips can cause the internal surge protector to fail so plug
it into a wall outlet as soon as you can.
