    I recently purchased a copy of Battlefield V through the Xbox Store, and very quickly discovered that the game was a massive disappointment for a number of reasons. I initiated the refund process, thinking that I played the game for few enough hours,
    and started the refund process quickly enough, to be eligible for a refund. However, I quickly found that all digital store sales are final, and my case was dismissed. This is a very rigid and unfortunate system, as it is extremely un-competitive when compared
    to buying a physical copy of the game.

    If I were to purchase a used copy of this game at GameStop, for example, I could return it within a WEEK for a full cash refund, or 30 days for full in-store credit. If I were to buy it new, I could at least sell the game back for SOME credit, rather
    than being completely out of luck as I am currently through the Xbox Store. With a physical copy, I can trade it with friends for other games, but a digital copy has no form of transferable license. Other than the convenience factor, which is minimal as I
    live close to several stores that sell games, there is no other incentive now to buy a digital copy of the game through the online store. Additionally, the price is the same for a digital and physical copy of a game; shouldn't it be a few dollars cheaper,
    considering that they don't have to manufacture and ship a copy of the game around the country?

    This experience trying to obtain a refund is enlightening, and moving forwards, I will:

    1) No longer use the Xbox Store to purchase any games whatsoever.

    2) Delete my saved credit card information, and only pay for Gold Subscription by purchasing redeemable cards. I know most of the money might still go to Microsoft, but I'm not going to use the digital store for any reason.

    I do hope that something will be done to make the online store more competitive, but the cynic in me tells me that it is probably this way BECAUSE it makes more money to have it structured like this, so I don't
    think anything is going to be done about it.

    Ideally these EA Access code rolls out in 7-10 business days after placing the order from Microsoft's website. If in case you purchased/pre-ordered from a retailer the, code would highly be included upon release or be provided to you via email.

    Completely agree, they denied my request to return Fallout 76 (an admittedly bad, broken, and unfinished game). This has pushed me to no longer use my xbox for games and ill be using steam as my only gaming platform.

    Something to keep in mind, digital purchases have always been an All Sale Final, and only recently has the option of refund been offered.

    You realise how insulting it is to reply with nothing more than stating that the refund option is new? He didnt ask if it was new he was asking why it seems like an empty gesture. Im convinced its only there for show

    I've personally refunded around 3-4 games purchased digitally from Xbox store without any issues. There's some criteria that exists so that people don't end up abusing the system such as you shouldn't have played it more than 2 hours, and should be returned
    withing 14 days of purchase.

    I believe there is also a limit on how many refund you can get within a period of time.

    Also, if may not be up to Microsoft. The publisher of the game may decide not to offer refunds so Microsoft probably can't do that. I have heard that Bathesda have not been refunding on other platforms as well so it may be the decision to deny refunds.

    One of the main reasons i don't buy from the microsoft store is the games are not actually ever owned by the buyer, All you own is the license and the games for not physically being owned are usually more expensive than buying the physical disc copy form
    other retailers, In some cases far more expensive.

    The refund policy isn't something that bothers me as i always check reviews for games before buying as far too many games now are released half finished with day one patches in attempt to make them work.

    Refunds are usually possible providing you meet certain criteria and there is a limit to how many refunds you can have in a year.

  11. What we as ambassadors are trying to say is that it is not really for us to decide whether or not you get your money back, or what opinion you formulate about the xbox store. Although, I personally have 268 digital games and have refunded all but 1 of the
    games I requested refunds on. What help we provide is voluntary as a fellow member of Xbox Live no different than yourself.

    It's 100% MS decision to give refunds. Why do you think Fallout 76 isn't on Steam? Because they would need to issue refunds if it was.

    I havent experienced the refund of digital games as of yet.

    Only have a few games thats digital, all other games is hard copies.

    I agree with you on the digital games should be cheaper, but dont think that will happen anytime soon.

    Hi there,

    If you initiated this via the website, I would strongly suggest that you call Xbox Support, to see if they can refund you. If you have played less than 2 hours, and purchased the game within 2 weeks, you should be eligible.

    It's down to you where you spend your money. My best advice, would be to look at some reviews prior to purchase, on any platform. You could turn to Sony, Steam or Nintendo, with the same complaint, if the same thing happens, and get varying results.

    It's best to be in the know, when making purchases, as with anything.

    Hi, You agree to these terms when buying digitally, It's been like this for years digital games have different rules when it comes to regions, refunds etc. Unfortunately there is not much more you can do at this point.
