...is the message I get when I try to log into Xbox.

I go online and when I try to log into the site they provided...I get a message...

"Something went wrong and we cannot sign you in right now. Please try again later. The Microsoft account login server has detected too many authentication attempts. Please wait and try again."

I waited and tried about 150 times until I finally called support. They told me to wait 12 hours.

I did and nothing changed.

I called again and they said wait 24 hours...

...still...nothing changed.

I called again and told them I am helpless on my end. I cant login into my xbox account or access my microsoft account to see whats wrong because of authentication attempts I never made. I can log into other xbox accounts...just not the one I use the most.

It has to be something on their end.

She told me this was widespread and was due to a server outage and could offer no timeline of when it would be complete...but it was being worked on. At least I got an answer but it just sounded odd.

Has anyone else been hit by this or is there any more info that I can get about this situation here?

Ive had an Xbox subscription for 15 years and this has never happened. I cant access anything related to my Microsoft account and have no idea when this is going to end. Its very frustrating to not be given a timeline or even emailed about the problem
in the first place.

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about the error message. If you tried to log in or refresh the account credentials on various devices, this will enable the security feature and lock the account. Unfortunately, you will have to wait 72 hours to sign
into the account due to being locked.

Do you have the 2-step verification enabled on the account?

I'm getting the exact same message. Seems like a small group of us are having the same problem- still no update as to why/not able to get into my account. It's been since Wednesday now.

343 put in a permanent playlist against bots and lagged out first two sticks of every game and every stick after 6 at 1800 games and I discontinued playing at 2222 with ~4K monthly sticks/plasmas record,
checked a week later it was at 2344, didnt even have to rerecover tag, removed from sticks per game and plasmas per game, u need all time sticks and plasma leaderboards, halo waypoint removes my comments due to not tolerating conspiracy theories and halotracker
deleted their forums all together, do not delete, stand up for comrade greedy giutton
