Theif

I've put almost 8 hours in and I'm only on chapter 3. I really like it so far. It totally draws me in. I hear people complain about the controls, but I don't have any problems. I want to play more, but I have been working from 9 am til 9:30pm 6 days a week
for the past 2 months. Only 1 month left of that schedule.

 

See I will likely get this game at some point this year. I'm a sucker for anything that has Square-Enix stamped on it lol. That, and although I see a few complaints, I have played games that look worse and liked them very much.

 

This is easily the weakest offering the XBox ONE has on it's play list at the moment.

It's something different for a while and has some bright spots but not something you want to pay full price for.

 

I do get a bit excited when I see Square Enix because I think of the Final Fantasy series, but after watching some game play videos, I don't think I would find Thief interesting for very long.

 

Saying it's the "weakest offering on the Xbox One" is quite an exaggeration. I'll play Thief over LocoCycle any day of the week. I agree that Thief isn't that good of a game. But everyone should play some mediocre games once in a while or you will never
truly appreciate the great ones.

 

That's like saying everyone should have a bowl of ramen noodles every once in a while so they can appreciate when they have steak.

Um, no it's not. That's a terrible analogy. A better one would have been "everyone should eat some Great Value brand microwavable frozen pizza so they can appreciate when they have some Papa John's.

Quick question about this game before I get round to nabbing it at some point. Does it explain the previous titles story?

"Thief" is easily the weakest offering on the XBox ONE's Full Retail Next Gen game playlist.

"Loco-Cycle" and other Next Box LIVE Arcade Titles need not apply.

This was my first Thief game. As far as I could tell, this game had nothing to do with the other ones. There was no hint at a back story. The plot was entirely self contained.

 

Well I've bought it on a different system, Great game and great atmosphere. I was never a fan of the ps2 thief game so I can't really compare. Reviews aren't that great but who reads reviews?

 

Thanks Sword. I always have the worry that I will jump into a saga and not know what is going on. Thankfully a lot of games nowadays tend to explain the history but if this game is tied to itself alone, I can worry less.

RedEye in my opinion, most reviewers now just chant rubbish. Don't get me wrong, I read them on occasion if I am really undecided on a game but I make sure that I hear the same thing across the board before I partially rely on them.

 

This is the 2nd best game available in my opinion. I haven't played TF yet and Tomb Raider is great. I love this game.

 

I hear that its way different to the originals but even with those I haven't paid much attention to. I just like the look of it and the concept of it and like I said on page one, I like pretty much anything Square-enix lol So looking forward to this years
Final Fantasy and KH3.
