The YouTube app (360) problems.

I've been for the past week, experiencing issues with the above mentioned app (360 ver.), and I have done all I can to try and fix it,with the info posted for trouble shooting. Sadly the results are underwhelming, the thing that catches me, is the rapidity
with which the issue arose..one night it just decided to not play the videos it presented. However, there are times where it will infact load videos, but the guide will not work, or the individual channels (when the guide "loads"), will not load. The msgs
referring to playback errors are ever there, and errors claiming that there's no internet connection. Please post here if you have the same issues...

X-360 apps

I use my Xbox 360 mainly for apps such as Youtube.

But for over a week now the Youtube app is the ONLY app not loading videos.

TWC 15 mg up and running fine. So I called XBCS. Twice.. Both times we trouble shot the problem to no avail.

Is anyone else having problems loading videos via the xbox 360 using the Youtube app?

 

Youtube App / Adobe Flash Player

Hi guys,I'm just curious if the youtube app for 360 uses adobe flash player,or if its something different,cause adobe is apparently having problems right now,and I'm wondering if it will affect the app on 360.

 

UPDATE ! I just checked the services page again, YouTube is now listed >limited. My hopes are high this issue is resolved soon; to any person having issues, post here hopefully the Mods will see and be able to help further.!

 

same here.I am on the beta program for the advanced features,I wonder if that may be part of the problem.

 

It's possible that you're right, just wish someone would confirm or deny this as a widespread issue. Regardless thankyou both for posting

 

Just to keep the /thread updated, the issues are slowly resolving, still present however the app is actually able to run a video. The guide still is a bit screwy, then again the whole thing is ! XD

 

It could be a service outage in certain areas, although I had trouble with this application telling me that I had no connection. YouTube was unusable in the same manner that many others described. This was my fix, and it had to be done in this exact order:

(1) Firstly, cycle the power of the network equipment, ie router and modem. Unplug them for two minutes before reconnecting power and turning them on.

(2) Next, clear the Xbox 360 cache or make a copy of it on a USB flash drive. I didn't copy mine, I just deleted it but the cached updates may be important to your own games. Go to Settings, System, Storage, System Items, and delete the "Content Cache".

(3) Go to Settings, System, Storage, System Items, Profile, and "Delete" profile. Only delete the PROFILE, not the GAME SAVES option. Any backgrounds you have will temporarily be turned off, but they will be back after the next step.

(4) Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller (large X button in the center of your controller). Select "Download Profile", which will then prompt you for the email and password that your Microsoft Account uses. It's usually the same as the one that
you login here with, but please make sure beforehand.

At this stage, the disconnect from Live problem went away on my Xbox 360. I was not getting disconnected, and YouTube worked.

(5) Go to the dashboard, Social, move over to select your avatar character, and click on him. In the next screen that opens you can turn your previous theme back on. Done.
