The Xbox One's party chat system is a mess

I've been encountering an annoying issue ever since I've bought my Xbox One. Most of the time when I join one of my friends party I won't be able to hear them. I try to leave the party and join back to see if it will help but I get the same result. Some
times I'll get this annoying message saying due to limitations I can't use the part chat.

I've read the troubleshooting solutions Xbox gives you but not one of those even work. Eventually I figured out that the only way to solve the issue is to do a hard-reset on my console by holding down the off button. I've had an Xbox 360 ever since 2006
and I had never came across an issue as bad and annoying as this. Microsoft needs to hurry up and fix these issues.

Please help. This is driving me mad. There must be an easier way than manually muting each player every time. I tried turning off chat through kinect. Didn't help...

I'm getting this exact issue. Why does the XBOX One Party chat suffer so many issues? It's amazing how on the XBOX 360 there wasn't this many problems with the party chat. Now with the XBOX One it's been nothing but issues with the Party chat since the
system was released.

I'm also tired of Microsoft constantly suggesting to do a hard reset on the system. It seems to be their answer to everything. Have a problem? Hard reset your system.

It happens to me as well, the best solution is to hard reset like you did. Good news is latest preview Update 1408 seems to run a lot faster and I haven't had that particular chat issue since. Destiny Beta did some strange thing but that was the game that
was interfering with that.

 

Xbox 1's party system is too windows 8 and complicated abd formal compared to xbox live party on 360.

 

^^ plug mic into controller, start party send invites....yeah thats complicated. You didnt even know how to start a party until a few days ago.

 

I'd like the old 360 guide party chat back non of this snapping crap

 

I don't mind the snap, but when you snap party it should show tiles of active parties of friends not just an invite tab.

 

i just switch my chat channel to game chat then back to party and it usually fixes it for me, but obviously that's me can't say it would work for everyone else

@N7 Gh0stz- I prefer having the ability to snap party chat. It is nice not having to pause my game every time I need to check my party. I understand where you are coming from though.

 

The Party System, is only the first variation. I am sure it will evolve more. Although, I think it is fine. Party leaders kicking friends is needed though in my opinion. To often I have a buddy, need to leave for a minute, and is gone longer than expected
and I end up listening to ambient noise via Kinect in the background. I should not have to open an entire new party for the other 5 of us. But as I stated above. I think the party system is fine. Just could use some minor tweaks.
