    Xbox One S Help

I bought an Xbox one s and my TV doesn't support it. What does a TV need to support Xbox one s? I don't want to buy the wrong TV.

Will LCD TV work with XBOX One S

I'm looking to buy a XBOX One S and I want to use my old LCD TV Samsung/720p.

Would the XBOX One S work with the old LCD TV or other version would work with the TV?

The Xbox One S and my tv

    Hi

Having a quick look on the LG web site it does not appear that this TV supports HDR however it should still be able to play 4K content but without HDR element of it.

My TV (LG 60UF7300) has the HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color as well. According to the Xbox One S support page, this is another name for HDR 10. Unfortunately, I've been having an issue with the Ultra HD Deep Color turned on. It's causing my screen to flash black
pretty frequently. It also says that HDR is turned off and that I can turn it on on a different menu, but the option is not selectable.

So, the flickering I was having with my TV was due to a bad HDMI cable. Swapped it out and the flickering stopped. Xbox still thinks the TV can support HDR but that it's not turned on, but I still can't select that menu option. Oh well, at least the flickering
    stopped!

Have you tried playing UHD disc with your LG TV? Does it throw you back to 1080P? It is happening to my LG TV and I'm wondering if I'm alone on this...

I just tried a UHD disc last nighg and it worked perfectly. I compared Deadpool 4k opening credits to the standard Blu-ray and the difference, to me at least, was pretty incredible. Even the 20th Century Fox logo at the beginning looked way better and the
colors popped more and my TV doesn't officially support HDR, just the Deep Color.

Posted this in another forum, as I ran across these settings this weekend and thought you might be interested:

A couple other settings to check on your TV's menus if you have the Deep Color option are Dynamic Color and Dynamic Contrast. HDR is basically a combination of more colors and better contrast to provide a more lifelike image. On my TV settings, I found
those settings were turned off, so I turned Dynamic Color to high and Dynamic Contrast to low (medium and high on Dynamic Contrast looked terrible) and noticed a drastic improvement in picture quality. It still won't recognize HDR on the console with these
settings turned on, but the TV still expands the color and quality on its own. One advantage to this is the results are seen across all aspects of the console, not just HDR enabled content. Even playing Red Dead Redemption through backwards compatibility,
I noticed a HUGE difference in color quality. The sky in the Mexico section before turning those settings on had a more blue-gray color to it, with the settings on, it looks like a bright light blue, just like it does in the desert where I live in Las Vegas,
so I can definitely attest to it looking more lifelike. Even the sunsets in the game, with the settings off, they were just bright oranges, with the settings on, there are pinks and purples that light up the sky and reflect off the clouds, just like in real
life. Check those settings and try the options I selected to see if it improves the picture for you as much as it did for me!

  11. Hey there N7 Gh0stz,

To see if your TV is compatible with all the features, you can run this test on the Xbox One S console when attached to your 4K TV.

    1. Double-tap the Xbox button to open the guide
    2. Select Settings
    3. Select All settings
    4. Select Display & sound
    5. Select Advanced video settings and then 4K TV details.
This guide has some more details and troubleshooting steps as well.

Occasional blank screen while playing on xbox one s

Hi I'm a little late to this. I have a newer Samsung SUHD 65in 4k TV that I just purchased last year. I have this same issue with my Xbox One S. When I put my xbox one S into 4k settings my tv goes black every so often as well. I have noticed if i unplug
the hdmi cable and plug it back in. The screen will sometimes rapidly flash to black over and over every 2 seconds. I then restarted my xbox one s and it went away. However my tv still flashes to black on 4k settings but currently it does it every 30 mins
or so, very annoying. So it is not a tv issue it seems like its an Xbox one s communication issue with the tv.

So is there any xbox updates on this?

Xbox One S not recognizing full 4K capabilities through 4K AV receiver

My TV doesn't support HDR at all but it is 4k capable. I have tried having the XBOX One S directly connected to the TV and through the receiver with no luck getting anything 4k out of the One S.

Netflix: No UHD on XBOX One S

That's the issue right there, Prezdead! My TV auto detects the resolution being put out by the source and sets it accordingly. There is no way to set my TV's HDMI input to display a certain resolution regardless of what the source is putting out. My Android
box and Roku 4 put out a 4k signal when I enable the resolution they should output is 4k. Unfortunately, The XBOX One S doesn't seem to do that.

When I do the video test on the XBOX One. My TV doesn't even flicker. It just pops up that it failed everything, which is incorrect. If I change the resolution on the XBOX One S to 720p, then it flickers and my TV changes the display to 720p. If I change
the XBOX One S to display 1080p, then the TV flickers and changes the resolution to 1080p. If I try to change the XBOX One S to display UHD, it does nothing other than go instantly to the failed screen, which states none of the options are supported. Under
Advanced Video Settings though, I have 24Hz, 50Hz, and UHD 4k checked. the problem is, the XBOX One S is putting out the 4k signal because the test says the TV fails everything and the TV will not disaply in 4k until the TV receives a signal from the XBOX
One S to display in 4k.

    No signal on TV

Hi, Praveen my name is Oskayra, and will be a pleasure help you

It's understandable that you're facing this issue with your Xbox One S console not displaying a signal on the TV in Japan. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check the HDMI cable connection: Ensure the HDMI cable is firmly connected to both the Xbox One S and the TV. Disconnect and reconnect both ends of the cable to ensure a secure connection.

Try a different HDMI cable: If possible, try using a different HDMI cable to rule out any issues with the original cable.

Change HDMI input on the TV: Check the TV's input settings and ensure that you are on the correct HDMI input port connected to the Xbox One S.

Power cycle the Xbox One S: Turn off the Xbox One S completely by holding the power button for about 10 seconds until the console shuts down. Unplug the power cord for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn on the console.

Update the Xbox One S software: Ensure that the Xbox One S is running the latest software updates. Go to Settings > System > Updates and check for any available updates.

Try different HDMI ports on the TV: If your TV has multiple HDMI ports, try connecting the Xbox One S to a different HDMI port.

Check for TV compatibility issues: Check if your TV is compatible with the resolution and refresh rate settings of the Xbox One S. You can adjust these settings in the Xbox One S's video settings.

Try a different TV: If possible, try connecting the Xbox One S to a different TV to rule out any issues with your current TV.

I hope this helps! Don't hesitate to ask if you have any further questions or need additional clarification.
