The Xbox One isnt downloading while on standby mode.

I just bought my Xbox One yesterday with the Gears of War UE Bundle and been trying to download it all night. But it seems its not downloading while the system is off unlike the 360. I have set the system in Instant On mode it says it downloads while off
but its not for me.

thanks that's all right, I didn't have patience to wait the download start on standby mode and turn off the xbox.

One last question, How long I can stay the xbox in standby mode downloading contents?

It responded to "Xbox On" while downloading in standby.

Hi Tcby1,

Sorry you're having issues with your new console. You're correct that the console should download the games while in "Instant On" mode. I would try a couple of things to see if it resolves your issue. First try doing a hard reset. As you've just patched
and updated the console, it could just need a hard reset. To do this with the console on hold the power button down for 5-10 seconds. If it's still not downloading, and you're wireless, try using wired. Finally I would try clearing your persistent storage.
To do this go to Settings >> Disc & Blu-ray >> Persistent Storage >> Clear Persistent Storage.

My xbox downloads at approximately 10% of my bandwidth while in standby mode through wifi. 250mb an hour in standby while on wifi. While on it downloads 4-5 gb an hour. I just tried a wired connection and seemed to fix it. Give it a try.

Xbox defaults to Energy saver mode. You will have to switch it to standby for downloads to continue while powered down

Same sort of thing for me. Forza 5 update today, turned on Xbox and was expecting Forza to be updated considering the update was out 6+ hours before and I had to wait for Forza to download the update after I had switched on the Xbox. Ive got the Xbox set
to "Instant On" and the "Auto download" set to on. Main system update from the other week was fine as that downloaded overnight and when I switched on the Xbox it was installing it straight away.

My question as well is if the Xbox is in standby mode should it still be connected to the router via wifi? My router shows a list of connected devices. Xbox in standby mode isnt shown on the list and so isnt connected via wifi, yet my PS4 in standby is shown
connected via wifi to the router. So should the Xbox be connected on wifi all the time when its in standby or just when its physically on? If its not connected via wifi when its in standby how does it get updates?
