It's getting bad. This trend started with the NXE update on the Xbox 360 in 2008. More ads, more pictures, and more store links. Look at
. Jumping from system settings to games, or media, or the marketplace was FAST! The library of games was organized.

I believe this was largely in part to having less ad thumbnails to load. We don't need to have everything thrown at our face at once. It's OK to display content in subpages. I understand times are different and we now have features like Smart Glass, Windows
10 integration, game DVR, Cortana, apps, etc. But don't let the content we don't own, slow us down from getting to where we want.

This is a change I am desperately hoping to see with future Xbox One, One S, and Project Scorpio interfaces.
    More focus on responsiveness.

    :)

    Xbox one to complicated....

The 360 UI is cluttered and a lot slower than the one, and I use both alot

    Home loading problems

whenever I try to log in to my account on my Xbox One, the home fails to load properly and the screen turns black and everything is slow. This wouldn't be too bad, except that my account is auto sign-in. How can I stop this?

I have two disagree. I don't think it's cluttered or slow. There's a big box with my last played game and 3 boxes on the right which are all gaming related. 1 of those boxes takes me too the deals of the week and free games. How awesome is that. It's right
    there...no searching.

If I want to go to my games and apps from the home screen I pull RT and boom, I'm instantly there. Then if I want to go to the actual store I click RB twice and I'm there instantly. If there were adds for non-gaming related stuff I'd be annoyed, but there
isn't, at least not on the dash in Ireland.

Same interface across all. Sorry u don't like it, but...it can take a few days to get the navigation, but you'll be a pro in no time friend...

Cluttered no, slow yes very much so (again). Each time MS fixes the Dashboard, sure as the sun comes up, it breaks in the next Dashboard.

Not slow for me...of course, owing to the number of dashboard topics brought up here in the forums, there does seem to be a percentage of xbox users more interested in playing around in the menus than actually playing games. Hope MS doesn't catch wind of
this, otherwise their next console reveal will only be focused on the menu, and not on...you know GAMES!!

If you're not using voice commands in the menus it will be slower. Voice commands are the fastest way to navigate in my opinion.

I don't find it slow or cluttered. I like having everything right there quickly available. However, like Burnin TODI says I don't spend a whole lot of time in the menus.

Appreciate for what it is right now.

I've had Xbox 1 since Day 1. I even went to the NZ Midnight Release. When it launched, Xbox 1 had more like a Windows 8 UI. Now that was super slow. It took like 30 seconds to open up one app like avatars. And no it's not our internet/ISP or Microsoft servers.
It's how they make the software, though your internet does play a part, so do does the software.

Xbox 1 currently has like a Windows 10 like UI. It's too good and fast to be called a Windows 8 like UI. And in my experience, it's super faster than what the UI was like at launch.

Yes I also enjoy Xbox 360's UI too. It's more kid-ier, which is why I like it. It also has a much stronger emphasis on our Xbox Avatars too, especially in Xbox 360's Social tab where it effortlessly shows our avatars, your friends avatars, and you can view
all the XBL Parties you and your friends are in and see their avatars in them too. Also Xbox 360's Quick Menu/Xbox Guide is genius too ^u^. You can go to it while playing games too.

The clutter on Xbox 1's current UI is only a bit cluttered to me when you go to the Activity Feed section. But other than that, I'm fine with it.

Also remember too, it's to do with the hardware as well. Xbox 1's AMD Jaguar 8 core APU is only clocked at an extremely slow 1.75Ghz clock speed. That's why the OS may not respond as swiftly as say to my custom desktop PC which has a 6th gen Intel Core i7-6700k
with a high base speed of 4Ghz with turbo boost to 4.2Ghz. K, I'm mentioning my PC CPU, but I'm ecstatic about it. My first custom build desktop PC. I got it so I can enjoy the full flavour of my PC games which are Planet Coaster, The Sims 4 and Cities Skylines.

brandiesel1, it's not "slow to navigate" but simply slow in opening a lot of items now. I literally waited this morning for almost 30 seconds at the Dashboard because I hit the Left Guide open and it wouldn't open. I don't think
any Gamer should be waiting for that long because of one button press at a Dashboard.

  14. After reading the responses, I wanted to come back and clarify what I mean.

I meant cluttered in the logical sense, not the visual sense. Take for example
the current Home Screen. It feels like there is a lot of scrolling. Yes, you can use the triggers, but I feel like there could be a better placement for everything.
Here is a concept of what I was thinking. As for the game hub and share buttons on the recent games, they can be moved to the
    option menu here.

Regarding the Store tab. I think if they are going to load in a separate app for the Store, it shouldn't be a tab on the dashboard, but rather just a button on the home screen. As with my concept for the Home screen, I think the pictures in the store should
get shrunk down as well. The new real estate would make a good place for more filtering options, a Games For Gold button, and current sales.

And yes, I do use the Xbox for playing games. I just want a smoother experience finding, launching, and switching the games I want to play.
