The elite controller is definetly a rip off. its made out of plastic just like the original controller. probably only costs $20 or $30 to make. I guess they have to make some money for operating expenses for xbox.

  2. ^ Well yeah but it's super nice for someone that doesn't like the DS4. I have XB1 controllers on my xb1/360, ps3/4 with the help of the cronusmax. I think the XB1 controller design is easily the best design since consoles existed. The Elite shares my Xb1
and Ps4, the Halo shares the 360/Ps3. I've only had problems on the Day Once controller, it was poorly built and insides were quite visible, I fixed it myself and now this one is never used.

I went to the midnight launch for Xbox 1 in NZ. Have the day 1 edition console with Kinect, and my day 1 controller is still working fine.

In NZ, the RRP for the Xbox 1 Elite controller Microsoft charges NZ$199..... The Xbox One controllers are poorly built o_O for a plastic controller. Sure it'll have some good features.

I know it'll be cheaper in Australia.

  5. Yeah it's pretty amazing and I did hesitate to buy one,,, until my other said "Just buy it". $199 Aus and worth it in my opinion.

I think it's hit and miss. Personally, I haven't had any issues with any of my controllers. However my Advanced Warfare one has a squeaky trigger but I don't use that one much anymore. As for the Elite controller, I've had no experience with it. I just can't
    justify the price tag.

I got my Elite as part of the console bundle. If I had to replace it I wouldn't hesitate to drop the £125 required. It's probably moderately overpriced but it's a long way from being a "rip off"

  9. Only problem I have had with my X1 controller is the D pad.

Right out of the box, I updated it, and began using Edge and Youtube and noticed that 1 click down on the D pad often moved the navigation down 3 or more spaces.

It does the same with games as well, which makes using the D pad annoying. So I hooked up the New spare X1 controller I had bought the day I bought the console. (black friday 2015) And it's D pad does it as well.

Wasn't the D Pad redesigned this generation? I'm sure it was, but if this is what some would call 'a quality redesign.' Then someone in the design team should have gotten fired.

Thankfully, I don't use the D pad much.

Had to come back to this thread to say that my elite controller is now on it's way for a warranty return. Issue cropped up literally a day before warranty expired. (3 months) The B button is sticking down intermittently. (Again, mature gamer, no drops, no
    food, light use, etc.)

    Xbox One Controller Built Poorly

You'd think with the supposed amount of research and money that got put into the controller alone. The controller should be at least a bit half decent.

The amount of times I've dropped my controller I'm surprised it hasn't broken already, but still on my original controller from 2013.

My two Day 23 controllers are still going strong. That only makes both of them over 2 years old now. Guess I'm not playing rough enough... although my friends wouldn't agree with that.
