it's not a problem of the controller, it can be paired with the PC with no issue, unfortunately with the latest firmware is no more recognized as an Xbox controller when connectd using bluetooth

In the joypad configuration panel when is wired connect it is reported as a "Controller (Xbox One For Windows)", when connected using bluetooth is reported as a generic "6-axis 16-buttons game pad with hat switch"

With previous firmware version it was reported as "Controller (Xbox One For Windows)" for both (even when connected with bluetooth)

It's a firmware bug

The latest firmware update of the classic Xbox one controller broke it as well when used connected with Bluetooth

I had to downgrade it to make it working properly again

I don't see any reason for the controller to lose bluetooth pairing. It has to be fixed.

Yes, me neither. What really annoys me is that this issue has happened for over a year now with my first purchase of the Elite Series 2 controller last year. Initially I thought this is a feature (albeit a weird one), not a bug. With all the issues related to the Elite controllers reported, they are far from being elite.

I have tried one thing and it worked:

If you charge the controller inside the carrying case (or into the charge platform), it doesnt disconnect from bluetooth.

But if you charge the controller plugging the usb-C directly to the controller, it does disconnect from BT, and i need to remove the device from bluetooth settings, and pairing it again (which is annoying)

I hope this get fixed, ofc (i dont know how to mention "XBF_staniel" to read this)

At least, the app update fixed the possibility to update the firmware of the controller, and now the A and B button works perfectly in BT mode. It is something

We need to keep informing about this issue, so the controller is 100% usable and correct. Today update was super nice, we just need a bit more

The Bluetooth definitely needs a firmware update, but until then just go hard wired If you return it to Microsoft - you'll prolly get another controller with the same issue...
