    The Xbox One App on my PC sees my XBox One but will not connect


    When I open the Xbox One app on my PC and click on "connect" it sees the XBox One. When I click "connect", after a few seconds it responds "We couldn't connect to the console. Make sure the console is still on and connected to the same network as this device."

    It is on and the network connections are all correct.

    Even though the XBox One is listed, I follow the next instructions: "Xbox One not listed? Enter you console's IP address."

    I then enter the IP address and receive the following "We couldn't find an Xbox One console with the IP address provided.," yet I entered the ip address that the Xbox One displays under network settings.

    I have rebooted bo the PC and the Xbox One numerous timess and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Same problem.

    This has happened sporadically since I've had the console, but tonight I can not connect. The console and controller works fine without the pc. Attached is a screen shot detailing the issue.

    XBox App Not working once IP address changed

    The Xbox One app was working fine on my Windows 10 PC until recently. Due to an internal network change, the subnet changed, so the IP address on my XBox and my PC also changed. Now, when I launch the XBox app, it sees the XBox on the list of possible
    connections, but will not connect to it. I also tried to connect manually with the IP address but the same issue. I do see the XBox as a connected device in the device list.

    So I know the PC sees the XBox, I can also ping the XBox. So why won't they connect? No other settings have changed, just the IP address on the new subnet. I have manually configured the XBox IP address so it stays static, but also tried DHCP and that
    didn't help.

    Yes, the Xbox is set to allow all connections, my modem didn't specify either but repeater downstairs does both 2.4 and 5 but my Xbox is less than five feet from the modem itself.

    Hiya, John!

    Paul from Xbox Forums Team here to assist with the issue, based off the information provided regarding this issue I believe I have a suggestion to make to see if this will resolve the issue. My suggestion is can we try using an ethernet cord to connect both
    the Xbox One Console and the PC to the same network and see if they see each other that way. Please let us know if that's a viable option.
