The Xbox app is so close to being awesome now! A few remaining bugs/issues.....

For me, there's just a handful of bugs/niggles left: -

1. On my 2,560 x 1,440 monitor, when I use the "Shrink" option, the app shrinks but has a small gap along the left edge of the screen and a large gap at the bottom, rather than fully filling that little slice of the screen on the left hand side. When I then
use the "Expand" option, rather than putting the app back to its original maximised state, I have a small gap along the left edge, a larger one on the right edge, and a larger one still at the bottom and the app is no longer maximised.

2. If I'm viewing a conversation and the person sends me a new message, the notification pops up, but the new message doesn't get added to the bottom of the conversation. I have to go back to my list of messages and then back into the conversation, then
the new message appears.

3. The bug with the app no longer being maximised after watching a Game DVR clip in full screen view and then going out of full screen view appears to have been fixed (sort of), but the way it transitions is kinda jarring. It's almost like the bug is still
there, but you've just added a "maximise" command that triggers when exiting full screen view, if you know what I mean - basically, it looks like the app still shrinks a little at the sides, but then maximises itself to correct this, rather than staying maximised
all the time.

4. If you minimise the app and then maximise it again, it refreshes your friends list. I don't know if that's intentional, but it seems a little odd, because if you leave the app maximised but you start browsing the web instead, for example, when you click
the Xbox app's taskbar button to give it focus again it doesn't refresh the friends list. A potential bug perhaps.

All of these happen in the latest non-beta app, which has a newer build number than the beta. Other than that though, I'm loving it. I really like the new layout with friends, parties, messages and the activity alerts moved to the upper right.

Oh yeah, bring it to iOS and Android please! The Smartglass app is basically defunct now.

HBO Now issues

I've had a few issues with the HBO now app, mainly the random freezing mid-stream which requires a force close of the app (which still takes like ~1min+ before it actually closes). After the recent update to the app, it is now also activating the inactivity
dimming mid-stream and requires you to push a button on the controller to bring it back to normal. The dimming issue also occurs on other apps, such as Twitch.

Any ideas to resolve, or is this a known issue being looked at?

 

Xbox One App Crashing

Xbox One App crashing on my iPhone 7+. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Did updates for both iOS and Xbox One App but still crashes. Issue started when Microsoft had issues with people being able to sign a few weeks back. App will start up, return
me to my home screen for the phone and stay loading in the back ground. I am able to swipe it to close the app but that's about it.

 

I've found another bug in the latest non-beta.

When I get a new message, a little "1" appears over the Messages icon to denote that I have 1 new message, but once I've read that message, the "1" does not go away. The only time it goes away is if I close and re-open the app.

 

Hi Sigma, Thanks for reporting. Can you report this issue by using the Xbox App (Beta) through the feature "Report a problem? I will call this out to the developers in our reports so they can investigate.
