The Xbox app doesn't start.

Hello.

I downloaded the Xbox app yesterday, the app started once, and then when I restarted it, the screen of the app was stuck on the Xbox account and the black background, and it was stuck there. There's no error message.

What I tried :

Updating Windows (I have Windows 10)

Deleting and reinstall the app

Restarting my PC

Disable and enable the xbox services at the start of Windows

Run sfc /scan now

Tried to repair the app, through Windows settings

tried to update Microsoft Store

Everything I found on Google

Will I keep all my files and softwares if I do this ?

I installed the Gaming Services but it still didn't work.

When I said I updated Windows I meant via Windows Update. So I did the in-place upgrade but the app still doesn't work.

Please try and double check this:
Press Windows button and type Services

On Services App from the list of results, press right-click and run it as administrator

Scroll to the bottom and find the following services:

IP Helper
Xbox Live Auth Manager
Xbox Live Game Save
Xbox Live Networking Service
Gaming Services

And do this with each of the services listed above:

Right-click over the service and select Properties.
Find the Startup type section and make sure it’s set to Automatic (if not, change it to automatic)
If the service isn’t started, click Start to start the services

Restart your PC and try again

If the issue persist try this instead:
Open the Control Panel in Windows.
After opening the control panel, set the “View by” on the top-right corner to “Large icons“.
Click on the “Network and Sharing Center” option.
Here, click on the “Change adapter settings” link on the left panel.
Now, right-click on the active network adapter and select “Properties“.
Go to the “Networking” tab.
Here, uncheck the “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)” option.
Click on the “Ok” button to save changes.
Then close all the windows, restart your PC and try again

I think I fixed the issue, I'm not sure what I did though... I ran wsreset.exe multiple time in PowerShell, I tried to run wsreset as an administrator, now I restarted my PC and it seems to work, everytime. I hope it helps someone.

The real mystery here is why we don't get a message if the app doesn't work.

That's really strange.

I can advise you two more things, if the issue persist the best option would be perform a custom installation for your Windows system

A. Do a clean boot in your PC and try from there
