The Witcher 3

I am thinking about purchasing this game. For those who purchased the game, please share your thoughts. Currently, I am into Dragon Age: Inquisition and enjoying it. Initially, DA was hard to get into. However, after the initial stages its really getting
good and rich. Thanks in advance for your feedback.........

Just take into account these screenshots are from a much older render and are no where near finished yet. Just the basics really, and at a low resolution at that.

One of the better RPG games I played. You decisions affect some of the game play. Let a random encounter live, he may cause trouble latter. Go wandering around the map, you may find yourself in deep trouble. This if the first game I ever bought the expansion
pass 6 months after the release. The dlc quests, and skins are free.

 

It's amazing, I've played DA:I myself and if you think that's got a lot of content with a deep and engrossing world then you need to play the witcher 3. Basically the witcher 3 has raised the bar for RPG's and I think in future, any RPG worth it's salt will
be compared to W3.

I'm in a similar situation, only reversed. I am currently playing The Witcher 3
(and I just can't stop!) so I am now quite interested in Dragon Age: Inquisition. Problem is I didn't exactly enjoy Dragon Age: Origins or Dragon Age II so I'm not sure as to whether I should get Inquisition
(pretty cheap now too).

 

^So I played Origins, but not 2 and overall DA:I is much better. It still has very similar point and click battle mechanics, but a lot more special attacks so you do actually feel like you're hacking and slashing a bit.

Some of the bosses are real grinds though, like you are just smashing away at them forever, haha, but the world has beautiful colours, the character creation is quite diverse and one of the best things is your travelling companions, the dialogue changes
depending on what characters you equipped and it just adds to the experience.

There's also hard decisions where you have to go one way or the other, I remember sitting at decision for an hour just racking my brain on what to do, haha. I highly recommend it mate, it's a really quite chilled RPG and I just couldn't put it down.

 

It's one of the best games out there on the ONE right now.

It's a really big action RPG with a lot of care and attention paid to the detail of the world and the character.

It's set in the world of Witcher novels by Polish Fantasy Author Andrzej Sapkowski.

In this fantasy world Witchers are monster hunters for hire. If a monster is terrorising the village they hire a Witcher to slay it.

Witchers undergo a lifetime of combat training as well as being subjected to experiments and magic to help them become more fit for their vocation. They use potions and simple magic to get the job done. Witcher potions would normally kill the average human.
Over time they are conditioned to build up an immunity to it.

The Witcher novels read like Game Of Thrones meets Grimm's Fairytales (the originals where everybody usually dies in the end and the moster ate grandma).

Besides having deep lore and rich characters the world of the Witcher is incredibly politically complex and the game does a great job of capturing the characters and the politics of the books.

People who've never read the books love this game to bits so don't think you have to read them to enjoy it. But if you want to get the most out of the experience you should read "The Last Wisth", "Sword of Destiny", "Blood of Elves", "Time of Contempt"
and "Baptism of Fire" (in that order).

You might be restricted to only playing 1 character (lets not give any spoilers those who've played) but they have done such a great job with Geralt the Witcher this will keep you going for a very long time.

Definately a "Must Play" on the ONE.

 

I bought Witcher 3 last night for $31 and installing now. Thank you to those replying and I am looking forward to getting my first couple hours in today.

Yes, The Witcher 3 is amazing and well worth the money you paid for. One of the best Western RPGs ever since Skyrim. The whole Witcher series shows you that CD Projekt RED is the best developer that is based on Poland.

 

Since you already bought it I won't explain why I think it's the best game I've ever played. You'll see why soon enough.

 

Both Witcher 3 and DA:I are amazing games and easily 100 hours each. Luckily I played them both before I started my new job. No time now. You will enjoy them both so much. I really can't decide which one I liked more.
