The Witcher 3 with critical bug - developer won't even reply

I downloaded the W3 + DLC bundle game and from the beginning there was no sound during dialogue scenes. Dialogue is a very important part of the game so it's currently unplayable. I tried to reinstall but no effect.

I (and several others) have for weeks now tried to get a comment from CD Project Red on their forums but they refuse to even reply http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/43341-Sound-Dialogue-Bug?p=1799906#post1799906

So I'm stuck with a faulty product the manufacturer refuses to repair and no way to complain or return because it's digital. This is a totally unacceptable way to treat your customers and I would like a comment from Microsoft with a suggested solution.

Xbox One will not be supported in all countries, Japan one of them

Kind of ironic that a game like the Witcher 3 is an X1 exclusive (also for PC) and yet the console won't release in Poland until later, where the developer of said game resides.

You CAN actually return a game on the xbox one. It wasn't possible on the 360, but the x1 handles licensing differently. I've done a return successfully, though in my case it was because I purchased the wrong item.

With the x1, even if you've already downloaded your digital item, if Microsoft revokes your license, you won't be able to play it. On the 360, once you downloaded it, I don't think there was anything MS could do to stop you from playing it.

Having said all that, I suggest you call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and explain why you want to return it. I'm sure they would if it was your first time, maybe not for people who try to abuse it.

Btw, do you know If you can keep your saves in case you want to repurchase after confirmed bug fix?

games saves are stored in the cloud when you exit the game. Removing/uninstalling the game does not normally remove the saves (I don't know if this is different if you have the game refunded/revoked though). You can read more about cloud saves

I know its kept when uninstalling but might be ms has a different policy for returns. Can someone confirm saves are kept?

 

Hi Ollie, returning an item won't affect your saves, all they do is revoke the license. You can even keep the game installed so that if you rented, borrowed, or re-purchased the game on disk, you would have it already installed and ready. (Assuming there
are no updates pending)
