In a cheeky blog post
this morning, the folks behind The Witcher proclaimed that the downloadable content—which even includes horse armor—will be available free on every platform (PC/PS4/Xbox One), no matter what, whether you pre-order the game or buy it later. They'll
release DLC bundles every week after the game launches on February 24, 2015. Packs will include quests, alternative costumes, and beard sets.

Sounds good to me.

Witcher 3 is going to be amazing I reckon, 16 bits of FREE DLC already announced!

 

This is how you do DLC!

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developer CD Projekt Red today announced a free DLC program for the 2015 role-playing game, and it does not disappoint. The studio will release a whopping 16 add-on packs for the RPG, all of which will be completely free, and are not tied to any platform.

The first bundle of DLC expansions for The Witcher 3 will be released on February 25, a day after the game's public release. This content will come in the form of the Temerian Armor Set (includes horse armor) and the Beard and Hairstyle Set for main character Geralt.

Good to see companies doing this butttttt I'm sure its a psychological idea. This stuff, like other games, already had this stuff in the game, took it out and release it for free to look like a knight in shining armor. Again, I am not upset by this but
getting a beard one week and horse armor the next, followed by a 20 minutes quest isn't my idea as DLC.

 

It does say it includes quests, while i agree the other stuff to me doesn't bother me one way or the other.

I do think its a good thing in that it could extent the time people play the game, and it will allow the developers more time to add content, but if they are free what value will they really add to the game and how keen will the developers be in developing
them.

However if it does work out well, it will be a feather in their cap and some real credibility IMO.

 

At least,those DLCs will be free.

No special pre order,no season pass,weird isn't it.

CD Projeckt,on previous games already shown,that they can makes good quality games and free contents available.

 

I will say one thing it has done is make someone who was sitting on the fence to be fairly keen now.

That's awesome even though it was most likely cut from the game. It should be loaded with content anyway even without all the pieces of DLC. D4 gave tons of free DLC and now TW3. It's good because it's a slap in the face to the developers and publishers
who want to nickel and dime us to death.

I'm cool with it. It's already gonna be GOTY 2015 so whatever random free stuff they wanna give me is just gravy.

 

It's like gaming back in the 90's on PC, Good on them, these microtransactions and ridiculous map packs for $ really needs to stop. Did I mention Season Pass? After buying the game?

 

Will Microsoft really allow 16 pieces of free DLC?

Valve wanted DLC for Left4Dead to be given for free, as it was on the PC, to gamers on the 360 but were blocked by Microsoft.

 

Well it seems they have so is it really worth portraying MS as the big bad wolf still?

I have every intention of buying this game , been quite interested in it for a long while. Great move to do it for free.

Also DICE used to give all map and dlc away for free on not only PC and PS but on Xbox Also. I'm sure there was more to it in the case of Left4Dead
