The warranty for Xbox One S has been shortened from two years to one day

Hi,

I’ve purchased Xbox One S console in June 2018. After few months console started to making weird noises (loud buzzing sound). I’ve register the console and created a warranty request.

I’ve checked status of my ticket today… and it seems like warranty was shortened from two years to one day (it ends today). From what i saw repair warranty covers next few months (it end in December this year) but main warranty was shortened/canceled
.

Did anyone had the same issue with a warranty?

You can contact xbox support by going to support.xbox.com and as long as you have a copy of the receipt where you purchased the console new then they would be able to correct the warranty end date for your console.

You would have to email them a copy of the receipt.

Hello, the warranty of my console: XBOX ONE S was shortcut to 10/08/2018 and RepairWarranty to 10/09/2018! I bought the new console less than a month ago and I opened a maintenance ticket for a problem of ventilation. And for no reason the guarantee was

I've never encountered a similar case before, I suggest you contact the official support so they can tend to this directly.

Thank you for the response. Sadly, technical support does not work in weekends. I was hoping that someone else encountered the same issue before. I must confess that i'm quite irritated with this situation.

warranty information is on our website, unless there is an extended warranty such as Microsoft complete the standard warranty covers the console for 1 full year from date of activation. Check it out and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for response. I’ve contacted xbox/microsoft tech support. It seems like it has been some kind of bug in the system. After sending scan of receipt, my warranty was extended to two years. Sadly my xbox came back in worse condition than before
the repair. I’ve already contacted the tech support and I’m sending it back for another repair in next week.

From what I have been told is that the Xbox one will come with the microsoft standard electronics warranty. It's good for a year. Retailers are most likely to offer their own warranties. Gamestop, for example, is 30 USD for a two year warranty. I recommend
purchasing a warranty besides the standard one.
